April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

1. What's your favorite ride in each Disney park?
Since my one and only trip was when I was 12, I really only remember Space Mountain.

2. What's the one thing that you look forward to the most on our cruise?
Relaxing, Palo, meeting DISers :woohoo: and getting away from our hum-drum life at home. And of course no cooking or cleaning for a week!

3. Where were you born? And where do you live now?
DH and I were both born and raised in Grand Island, Nebraska. We're still here and will never leave (we still don't know if that's good or bad!)

4. What's your favorite Disney character?
I don't really have a favorite. Recently, I really like Guido and Mater from Cars.

5. What's your favorite Disney movie? Animated or not, doesn't matter.
LOTS! Cars, Toy Story (I & II), Aladdin, The Little Mermaid (although it has been ages since I've seen it!), The Incredibles, Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas, 101 Dalmatians, Home on the Range...I'll have to go check the DVD rack! (Do Baby Einsteins count? If so, Baby MacDonald and Baby Neptune!)

How many U.S. states have you been too?
Me--not too many. Maybe 7ish. DH a few more (as a child and for business trips, etc.).
I guess I should list them, huh? Mine are CO, IA, SD, WY (for about an hour on the motorcycle when we were at Sturgis in August), KS, AZ, CA, HI, FL. I think we may have driven through TX and NM as a child, but I'm not sure. DH are all the above (except FL and AZ) plus TX for sure, IL, MN, MI, VA

How many foreign countries?
Me--one. Mexico for part of a day (Tijuana, the armpit of the universe! :crazy2: ) DH--same day in Tijuana. He has a funny story about trying to go to Canada, though. Maybe somene can ask him about it on the cruise...

Disneyland - The new and improved Space Mountain
DCL - Soarin

Donald Duck and Cinderella
5. What's your favorite Disney movie? Animated or not, doesn't matter.
It's so hard to pick just one........probably Toy Story.

What's your favorite ride in each Disney park? As I have gotten older I've become a wimp. I love the 3D movies in the parks. EPCOT- test track, MK - Spash Mtn, MGM - my kids love Rock n' Roll, AK - safari ride. DH has a steel rod in his leg and is unable to fit on the rides. When we go to the parks we eat, sit and people watch and just enjoy our children's excitement.

2. What's the one thing that you look forward to the most on our cruise? I can't name one thing. RELAXING, eating and reading

4. What's your favorite Disney character? It would have to be the princesses.

5. What's your favorite Disney movie? Animated or not, doesn't matter. Mary Poppins - I love the music. 2nd choice - Little Mermaid

Countries - Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, Virgin Islands (British & US), England, Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Japan, Korea, Taiwan - For 15 years my husband traveled extensively for his company, I would occasionally tag along. :goodvibes

WOW! Impressive! Sounds like you were tagging along more than "occasionally!"

Val, while my husband was traveling we accumulated TONS of air mileage points towards free trips. We would use it, give it away (to family) and sell it. At the time, I told my husband that I would only fly first class. :lmao: Fast foward to today...my husband stopped traveling several years ago. DH being gone for weeks at a time began to have an affect on DS and DD. We will be flying Southwest, packed in like sardines and begging for pretzels. :rotfl2:

Forgot the additional questions....

States
CA, AZ, UT, NV, CO, WY, SD, ND, IO, NE, MN, IL, OH, KY, TN, GA, FL, SC, VA, DC, NY, WI, TX

Countries
Mexico (as far South as Tijuana), Canada, Bahamas. We actually won a trip to Italy, but it was scheduled around 9/11 and we were not able to take it. Some day.....

So why the rod in his leg? OUCH
DH had osteosarcoma. He has a steel rod from his hip to his ankle. He is unable to bend his leg. When we go to Disney World he is always pushing for the kids to go on the most exhilarating rides. He misses going on rides but he misses roller coasters the most.

my turn popcorn::

SO, I was just thinking, has anyone else received their cruise documents yet?? We booked straight through Disney and still haven't gotten ours. I imagine that they should be here this week.

OMG. How devastating! I'm glad he hasn't let it interfere with going on family vacations.

I think several families also have something extra special to celebrate on this cruise, too--surviving cancer! :cheer2: With koby's DH, Bugdozer's DS, and my DH, we've got lots to celebrate!

I was going to ask the same thing! I've been expecting them since Wendy told us last week that she got hers! So far...nothing here.

No documents here either. :sad2: Oh well - it will be a fun day when they do actually arrive! They might as well. Considering half the house is in vacation mode already with suitcases out, and my organizer thing on the dresser, and lists galore. :) I've got to do a major cleaning this weekend though, before DD's party next weekend.

I was just coming out to post this. :lmao: I called our TA during lunch and left her a voice mail. I was starting to freak out.

I received my docs last Tuesday.:thumbsup2 I booked onboard and then switched to a TA.

Since it appears most of us are still waiting on docs, is anyone else besides us waiting on passports? We applied for the boys' passports on 02-12-07, and they're still not even in the system. DH and I applied a week later (we didn't have the "official" birth cert), and ours are showing up with a passport number, but it doesn't say anything about a date of when to expect them. It just says 10 weeks after applying, even though when we applied, they were still saying 6-8 weeks to receive them. But I think we all know that 10 weeks is stretching the truth a little. It also says to call if you're within 10-14 days of traveling, so Friday or Monday, I'll probably be on the phone all day long trying to get them sent out ASAP.

1. What's your favorite ride in each Disney park? MK-Space Mountain, Epcot-Soarin, AK- Everest, MGM- Rockin Roller Coaster

2. What's the one thing that you look forward to the most on our cruise? More then one I guess, relaxing in the sun on the deck, desserts, I think more then the food, and of course someone else to cook

3. Where were you born? And where do you live now? I was born in Erie, PA and I leave in NH now I have since I was 5 yrs old

4. What's your favorite Disney character? Tigger

5. What's your favorite Disney movie? Animated or not, doesn't matter. I like Toy Story and the Little Mermaid

States I have been in: NH, MA,ME,VT, NY, PA, RI, CT, VA, TN, GA, AL, FL, TX,CO,MN AND OTHERS THAT WE JUST DROVE THRU.

Countries: Ireland, Canada, Bahamas, my husband has been to Canada and Korea, our boys were born there and he took our oldest on a trip to visit the country of his birth a couple of years ago, I stayed home with the little guy, hopefully in another 10 yrs we will make the trip again so youngest DS can see his birth country too.. Would love travel more, hopefully someday....

We booked thru DCL and moved our reservations to a TA too and as of today we still don't have our paperwork..

hi Val
We have all our passports now but in Jan we had to apply for our youngest DS's and when I checked he wasn't showing up in the system either so I called because it had been a while they said don't worry that he is not in the system because some of them never make it, she then checked on the status for me and I had a problem with our application and we started working on it before I even got the letter stating that I had the problem but if you and your husband are showing up and they aren't I would call now and not wait until the 10-14 day mark because you have a legitimate question, "Where are my boys passports? Husband and I are in the system? "and while you have them on the phone ask them when they think they will be mailed etc etc

Cheryl

It sounds like we are in the minority. We applied in late October/early November and got the passports before Christmas. My DW had a problem with her birth certificate and had to send another copy and she still had it 10 days later.

A guy I work with applied in December for a trip he is taking this week. He didn't have them as of 2 weeks ago and started calling. After a lot of worrying he got them Wednesday of last week.
