How much is the private villa spa?

And if it's too much, besides the Exotic Rasul, is there a private hot tub that you can book?

BTW, the one thing I am telling everyone to bring is one of those extension cord plugs to plug everything (chargers, hair straightener, etc. ) into.

corryn -- i'd have to look it up for sure, but i'm pretty positive it's around $500 for an hour

:cool1: I love the photos Molli. DD was sitting here beside me and when she saw the Mickey pool, her eyes lit up. "I wanna do that! Can I go there? I want to go there today."

I'm taking a short break from packing. My family room is a disaster right now, since I've had clothes spread all around. But it's slowly all coming together. I've made a list of what's already packed, who is wearing what on which night. Really makes the vacation seem even more real now. :)

I'll check back later on tonight, if I'm not fast asleep. :rotfl2:

Ok, I've been slacking again!!! This is our last day before getting to the teens!!!

Countdown to Cruising!!!
20 days & counting!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

oh my goodness!!

we had a cruise-prep day around here. got all our dinner outfits laid out, pictures took so i remember what to pack and we don't have to waste time thinking about it onboard. whew!

found my folder and started loading it with documentation, excursion info, etc :teeth: we decided to book the pirate encounter at Grand Cayman.

any word on Pirates night and the possibility of it moving to Tuesday? i hope not at this point

i can't believe it's APRIL!!

Ever seen Donnie Brasco? There's a whole disertation behind the meaning of "Faggedaboudit". Very funny stuff.

Regarding Amazing Race, you had to be excited to see the BoSox fan get eliminated a few weeks ago. If I remember correctly, you are a Yankees fan. We love Amazing Race. :happytv:
Hi everyone :)
I know it's not DIS related, but I'm good with going off on tangents!
I went to visit my BF over in Staten Island yesterday and we drive through Brook-A-Lyn to get there...Here's some photos:

Here's the Manhattan skyline from the Verrazano Bridge:

And here are the famous signs!

Fuhgeddaboudit.jpg

As far as Rob and Amber getting eliminated - The Bronx and Boston rivalry aside, I like Rob and so does Ed....that guy's got personality, you know? He's very entertainingpopcorn:: I just want those stupid "Beauty Queens" eliminated....Ugg, they're so aggravating! I'd take Charla and Mirna over those two any day:scared:

Wow, I guess we'll be skippin' the private spa!:rolleyes1
and what do you mean taking pictures of your clothes?

The kids are off this week for their Spring Break...I'm off on Monday night and Tuesday for Passover, but I'd really like to be off for Holy Thursday; they have a family luncheon going on at church, but with the cruise coming up, I Do Not Dare take a day off from work!

Oh, something I have to share!!!
I don't care for chocolate:crazy2: only sometimes, and it can't be that horrible Hershey stuff.....But today on the news I saw a wonderful idea that I'm going to use for little gifts for the secretaries at work....
You take Peeps and dip them in dark chocolate, then add little pink noses and blue eyes...They looked so cute!
Peeps are my absolutamente favorite! So on my day off on Tuesday I'm gonna "whip" some up. They dipped them in the rows of four, you know, they just took them straight from the box without "ripping" them apart and just dipped them.

All right, I'm going to bed...I had wayyyyyyyy tooo much wine this weekend and Momma's gotta work!

I do not like chocolate either. Give me carmel or vanilla and I will be happy. Three more weeks of work! YAY!

corryn -- thanks for posting those pics! the girls and I were just talking about NYC last night, i think someday they'd like to visit :woohoo: the peeps sound adorable, let me know how easy/difficult they were. i'm such a big sweet tooth, i love it all. chocolate, carmel and vanilla! though i will say if i had to pick i'd lean on the vanilla/carmel side myself. i do love a good chocolate too though....it's sooo hard to pick! I will be the one with multiple half-eaten desserts in front of me :thumbsup2 :cool1:  :rotfl:

i did check on Barb's site and the Villa for one is 'only' about $249 for 50 mins, for a couple it's $449; that includes a massage. now how do you have alone time and a massage in 50 mins??

taking pictures of our clothes -- we did this last time and it just helped elminated same chaos at the dressing for dinner time. and Preston and I plan on getting a partial-week rainforest room pass so the girls will need to get started getting themselves ready while we are relaxing :thumbsup2 anyhow -- we just lay out the clothes (either by person, this time we did everyone for the evening) and snapped a picture of each night. I"m going to print out a regular size sheet with small wallet size type photos of each, labeled with which night. That way there is no thinking involved. if you can't remember what you are wearing for Monday night you just check the picture and you're done. Also, I could see myself and Taylor changing our minds, remixing outfits and then at the end of the week having nothing left that matches. you know a brown/blue printed skirts with a tropical shirt in bright colors :upsidedow it's anal i know, but we truly found it helpful. my kids are too old to let me put their clothes in big ziploc bags by day  and i'm trying to avoid overpacking

so where is everyone? packing??

we did decide which bags we are taking so i can start to load them up! i have my shopping list started and last night went through the bathroom closet for medications, band-aids, etc. i was feeling so cheesy and excited!

Corryn those are great photos!

I'd say we're 75% packed now. :cool1: I did laundry nearly all day on Saturday, for "regular" things, then for stuff we're taking on vacation. Emily thought Santa came early or something, since there were a lot of shirts, bathing suits, and a few pairs of shoes she hadn't seen before. She got mad that I packed them in a suitcase & wouldn't let her wear any of it. :rotfl: I also tried "rolling" our clothes this time, so we'll see just how wrinkled everything is once we arrive. It did seem to help with space in the luggage though.

Now I need to tell you what DH said last night. I had already made lists of what was already packed, clothing for each night, etc. I said "you need to go pick out one of your suits to take. He looked at me like I had 3 heads or something. "Why would I do that?" I said "Because of formal night. I don't care what you wear the other nights, but I'd like us to look nice that night, and I know you won't agree to a tux!" He was like this  :sad2: It was so funny. After all this cruise talk I guess he never heard that part. :rotfl2:

Good Morning, Molli and everyone :goodvibes
If you ever decide to come to NY, I'd come in September while it's still nice!

Okay, those photos sound like a good idea ;)

That's nice that Preston will be joining you in the Rainforest Spa. Ed doesn't want any part of that....But I'll be getting the full week pass because that's how I roll:rotfl:
(I've been sticking that stupid phrase in somewhere everyday and Ed and the kids are getting so sick of it, it's hysterical!)

Anyway, I just purchased three little plastic bottles for my shampoo, conditioner and gel yesterday so I can bring it with me to the spa. It's already been established that I will be in the spa every night before dinner.

Instead of doing the easy thing like you, I'll be ironing every day and laying the clothes out before dinner for the girls. They're only going to be choosing their own outfits for two nights when they won't be wearing dresses.

Today we'll be going to get a garment bag for Ed. We have one, but no way is it going to hold dressy clothes for a week for the four of us!!!
And I figured, okay, $30.....I get to Kohls.....$189!!!!!! Not for me! Then we go to Target......$89 - $99:sad1: So now we're going to take a ride to the outlets after I get home from work to see if they'll have a deal there. Something like $30;)
Oh my gosh, it's 8:37 and I still have to dress, do my hair and makeup and get my behind to work!
Talk with you guys lata

Ok, we're officially in the teens!!!

Countdown to Cruising!!!
19 days & counting!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Ok, I'm quite jealous of you guys, since several of you are already packed. While I always try to get packed early, I'm usually doing it a couple of days before. Since he doesn't read here, I can say that I'm actually planning a surprise 40th birthday party for Chris and 3rd birthday for Madison on the 15th. So, I'm busy with getting the house ready for that, then we'll be packing starting that Monday.

Hello everyone,

I'm with Amy, I'm jealous that you guys have completed so much of your packing, I guess I better get going now that our days are numbered in the teens, I have even fewer days left since I'm leaving for Florida even earlier then our cruise date.

Amanda...my husband travels and he insists that rolling creates less rinkles and leaves more space. You will have to let me know what you think. I'm usually the one packing and I can't seem to get the rolling down and he is usually busy when I start packing, so usually on the way home he packs our dirty clothes and stuffs a lot in the suitcase and of course I don't care if they come out rinkled.

Corryn...or anyone else with the answer can you explain the Rainforest Spa pass that you were talking about? What exactly do you do there?

Are any of you guys taking your kids out of school? We are on Spring break but we are leaving a few days early so I need to send in a letter to let the school know, but how early do you send your letters in? I didn't want to give them too much time so they forget that he's leaving but I wanted to give them enough time so they could have him do some work before or they could get some work together if they need to..

Cheryl

Has anyone booked the Cozumel Dune Buggy Tours through Cozumel Home Vacations. My DW and DS(9) are booked.

So I was occasionally lurking this weekend but it didn't seem anyone else was around much either, so I tried to get some more stuff bought on Saturday. Unfortunately, I spent part of Sunday returning/exchanging because they didn't fit. :sad2: Then we had family & friends over last night for a BBQ (one of DH's new hobbies--"low 'n slow" cooking). YUM! Of course, then we had to watch the updated DCL show on Travel Channel. :thumbsup2 Now my mom & stepdad want to go even more than they did before! I was told that I have to book for them when we're onboard. That means we're going to be cruising again sometime!

I haven't even had a chance to stalk yet today with all our medical stuff going on today. Lennon had speech therapy while DH had an abdominal ultrasound. Then DH & I both had appointments today with the urologist--mine for follow up on the kidney stone and DH for his twice-a-year cancer checkup. We both got :thumbsup2! YAY! :woohoo: I'll have more testing after the cruise, though.

Speaking of medical stuff, how are Cheryl's thumb and Molli's DDs' knee & ankle? I sure hope everything is getting back to normal for you all!

Corryn--I love the NYC pics! I didn't know there were signs with those sayings on them! So are you a fan of The Sopranos? (The pictures kind of remind me of the intro to the show.) We rented the DVD's by the season when DH was off work after his surgery, but we only got toward the end of season 4. I hear the final episodes are coming up sometime soon, but I try to not read anything about it in case I find out something that has happened since we last watched. Anyway, my mom & stepdad are planning a trip to the Big Apple in May. They're taking the train. (Not my idea of a good time, but to them it is!) I'm not sure exactly where they're going and what they're planning on doing while there, though. Also I know what you mean about luggage prices! We had been watching a piece at Kohl's for about a month, and it was 50% off but was still $80! FOR A BACKPACK! (It's really neato, though, because it can be worn as a backpack but has wheels and a pull-up handle, plus it has a removable mini backpack for the excursions!) It finally went on clearance but was still over $60 when we bought it. It was the only one they had. Otherwise, I would have tried to wait it out a little longer for more % off.

Amanda! :thumbsup2 on packing! I was going to wait a little bit yet because I thought the clothes would get too wrinkled if they were rolled for three weeks, but maybe I should start!

Amy--how fun to have a surprise party! You sure will have a busy week before the cruise! I don't think I would have the energy to get everything ready for a party and a vacation at the same time! You go girl! :thumbsup2

So DH squashed the idea of wrapping some dollar store gifts for the boys on the plane. He reminded me of our trip to California 11 years ago for some friends' wedding. Another couple with us had their gift (a large box) as a carry-on, and it was ripped open at security before we even left Omaha! And they tore open the box itself! (Isn't that what the x-ray machines are for?!?!?!?!) Maybe I can just put the surprizes in a fun bag of some sort.

Now I've got almost my whole day of work to do. :sad2: I'll check back later this afternoon/evening, but I'm sure I'll be stalking/lurking in the meantime! :rotfl: I CAN'T STAY AWAY!

Today we'll be going to get a garment bag for Ed. We have one, but no way is it going to hold dressy clothes for a week for the four of us!!!

I hope I'm not too late but, we found a decent garment bag at Walmart!! We too looked everywhere and they were expensive. I forget what we paid but it was under $30 and it is fairly nice. It will do the trick.

Has anyone booked the Cozumel Dune Buggy Tours through Cozumel Home Vacations. My DW and DS(9) are booked.

We booked through Island Marketing for the dune buggies. We'll have to compare notes later on & see if one was better than the other. :rotfl:

Cheryl, I'll be reporting on the whole rolling idea. I took the clothes straight from the dryer & rolled them, so they were in fairly good shape. I'm going to pack some Downy Wrinkle Release and if that doesn't help, then I guess I'll have to iron. I'm trying to avoid that at all costs though, can you tell? ;)

I am sooooooo ready for this vacation. I'm glad it's coming up so soon!

 fun (present) sucker  name that movie?!?

but i see his point - how about a fun character gift bag? that has always worked for me. maybe kinda wrapped individually in tissue paper, just kinda squished up and around stuff so they have to dig?

phone ringing...............

Amanda, are you taking Emily with you for this? We don't have anything planned for Coz, but I thought this sounded like it may be fun, but do you think its a rough ride for young kids? Through DCL, it says minimum age is 10, but in the PassPorter, it says 5+, which Lennon is too young for anyway, but I haven't checked into reserving on our own.

Straight from the dryer sounds like a great plan! I also had it in my mind that if things are too wrinkly when we arrive, I might fluff them in a dryer onboard for a short time. Does anyone know if the dryers' temperature can be changed or is it all hot all the time? (I don't dry most of my clothes, so in case I want to do laundry midweek or need to fluff, I don't want them on anything but low heat--or even no heat after they've air dried in the room.)
