April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

Thanks, Molli! I didn't think about all that stuff on the last day. (I seem to be concentrating on the positive things--embarkation day, relaxing days at sea, ports, etc. Not the negatives--disembarkation!) I hadn't called yet to reschedule the pickup time, so I'll probably request 9:30ish. :thumbsup2

Someone had posted a link to a design gallery thread, which had several other links to other threads/photobucket albums, so I don't know where it is originating from, but I like some from these

And of course the one that Amanda made on pg 37
Looks like they did come from the DISigns forum (I didn't even know there was such a thing). It sounds like they make these designs for shirts, but I just want them for door signs. We'll see if I can even do that.

Ok, you guys!! I don't know how I missed it, especially on that oh-so-memorable thread-stalking day, but I missed the sign on pg. 37 that Amanda made!! I totally saved it to print it later.

i would bet those DISers will customize their graphics for you for free. just PM and ask them. really the hard work is done, designing the main layout, adding your wording wouldn't be too much. and most likely they enjoy making them

i'm going to concentrate on door signs this week - i'm going to my Mom's next weekend and she has a laminator, so i plan on getting them all printed out before then. pg 37 -- is that the stalking/chocolate sign? i'm printing one of those too! i have a generic DIS boards graphic that i got from another cruiser back in 2005; i'll post it here if anyone wants to add it. for new cruisers -- i have sadly read of stories of door signs coming up missing. hard to think some folks would actually take them, it could be unruly teens (what! not mine!) but i have got in the habit of putting a DISboard logo with my username on it; that way if someone really is thinking of taking it for their door, well no dice. and i don't like putting our family 'real' names just for safety for my kids

someone asked what to not forget??
-- boring but i will be bringing laundry detergnet (bought small bottle in trial size area at Target) and dryer sheets to run a couple loads mid-week. just the basics, jean shorts and a load of unmentionables. so i'll bring quarters too.

-- BONINE!! i make everyone take it everyday b/c i'm anal and i don't want to take chances

-- single dollar bills for tipping room service

-- pillowcase or whatever you fancy to drop off at GS for characters to sign

-- candy treats for servers or special CMs (i'm going to buy small packages of "buckeye" candy which is local b/c we are from ohio). i read that the CMs don't get much of the desserts, etc and candy is a welcomed gift

that's all i can think of, more will come once i really start packing

i have this and have added "ohMom" in the Walt Disney font on the bottom half

if anyone wants the file, just let me know and i'll email it to you. i can add your username if you'd like

Hey everyone,

I'm finally settled down for my daily DIS stalking fix. :lmao: I need to work on more door signs myself. I have about 3 done already - don't know if I want to change them each day, or just keep them the same through the whole cruise. Whatever I do, they will be watermarked with atleast my user id here, and/or our cabin number.

We've decided to cancel the Wed. night Palo. Maybe (fingers crossed!) we can get on the waiting list for brunch - which I've read is a bigger favorite anyway. DH said "I'd rather have the fun dinner" so there was my answer! No biggie though. I really wanted to go for the souffle.....maybe I could request some for one night during 'regular' dinner. :confused3 ;) It's all about the chocolate!

BlueFalconer--since you're a kitchen guy, do you like Pampered Chef?

Yes! My DW had a friend that was selling it just before we got married. DW through a party and we ended up with the entire pots and pan set. Still use it today. We also have a few other things as well.

AWWWW! How sweet! So are you a photo-holic, too? Amanda and I will have (almost) matching Nikons around our necks. :thumbsup2

Yes, I am a photoholic. But, mine is a Canon EOS Rebel I got a few years ago before digital took off. I dream of buying the Canon Digital SLR. On our trip to Disney World in May 2005, I took over 150 photos. It would have been more if developing was cheaper. :goodvibes

We just bought ourselves a new Canon Digital SLR for our anniversary in December. Then, DH just got an extra flash with his bonus money. He's been snapping indoor pictures with that flash all day.

Finally a chance to see what I missed out on today! We had a couple parties to go to, and I was hoping I wasn't missing out on anything too important around here!

It was a pretty memorable day! But I did miss some things that day, too. I had to go back and re-read some things.

I'd take it! Thanks!

Maybe we can order an extra souffle "to go" and deliver it to you!! From the sound of it, no chocoholic can do without it! :) And I'd be glad to help you get it!

I got the entire cookware set from having a party two years ago. They're THE BEST! The show I had in January got me lots of their more expensive things that I would not normally buy. And now I have almost all the stones, too!

palo brunch thoughts --- we have reservation on Sunday at 10:30 -- are there anyother folks on the same morning, or about the same time?

Preston and i were just talking, it might be fun to get a group of 6 - 8 (or more!) linked up for brunch. is there any interest in this? i think if there are more staterooms booked that morning, we can add more guests? like i could have a reservation for a party of 4? does anyone know how large a group is allowed per stateroom?

We are also booked for brunch on Sunday @ 10:30 a.m. -- our reservation says that it is for two adults, but I don't know if that is because our party only has two adults or if they would allow more. It would be fun to get together!

Wendy

We have brunch at 10:30am on Monday, if anyone wants to sit with us. I think that you can link brunch ressies once you get onboard. Also, there is a private dining room in Palo (holds about 10, maybe 12) that can be reserved once onboard too.

As a longtime lurker and occasional poster, I have a question. I know that 2 of the families are doing Captain Marvin's together (I think it's the Rodgers family and another). I'm wondering if you would mind if my DD(12) and I joined you if there is availabilty. We are currently booked on the short excursion at 11:15. I just found out that my DH and DS are leaving much earlier for there dive. Please let me know. Thanks.:goodvibes

We were at the Disney Store at our local mall today and bought each DS a disney tie for formal night. They are kid's size L and were only $6.50. :cool1: One had a Mickey sillouette at the end of the tie and the other was a bunch of Mickey and Plutos in a pattern.

Just thought I would share the info. Couldn't find them in the online store or I would have provided a link. If interested, look around at the Easter stuff at your local store.

Most definitely you can join us on the Capt Marvin's trip!! Send them an email, see if you can switch. It'll be us (DH, me, & DDs) and Val's family, so far.

:cool1: Don't you just love stuff like that? Our closest Disney store is an hour away :sad1: but every so often I head there. If we were closer, well, I might as well get a part time job there, since I know I'd spend even more money. I just don't know what I'll do with myself visiting the one in Downtown Disney. Poor DH just shakes his head when I mention shopping. :rotfl:

We're on Capt. Marvins for the 10am trip (1/2 day) So if anyone is considering it, let me know. It would be a fun trip with fellow DISers.

I'm cracking up at the info we all missed during the thread stalking day. :rotfl: What can I say, we were on a roll! It was fun though. Do you think we'll all meet at the port and have nothing to say? Doubt it.

I'm making my hair appt. this week. DH & I were joking, and I said "I might put dark red highlights in my hair" just to see his reaction. He said "Go for it!" Sooooo, I just might follow through. I don't want the bright Raggedy Ann look or anything though. I really thought he'd say "Are you crazy?" I did a temporary color a loooong time ago, it was all over reddish color and I loved it. DH jokingly said "You act like a redhead already, with the attitude sometime, might as well have the hair to match." Amazingly, he's still alive now. :rotfl2:

I just sent an email to Captain Marvin's to see if they will switch our reservation. Is there a problem getting on a tender that early in the morning. I thought that Disney excursions got first priority off the boat. :confused3 I'll let you know when I hear back from them.

Thank you.:thumbsup2

working on a door sign for DISmeets -- or a document available to anyone that wants it -- questions

Sailaway party -- Deck 10 -- which side??

wine/martini tasting -- should we try to arrive 15 mins prior to try and sit somewhat together -- i remember it being open seating for the wine tasting

amy -- do you have a better sense of direction for wording for CC beach on Friday?

Before I made a ressie with Capt Marvins, I emailed them about the tenders. They told me that there were already some people on their early trip and there shouldn't be any problems with the tender. So, I took it from them that it would be ok.

Wasn't there some discussion of having a DISmeet indoors, at about 3pm, before the Sailaway, maybe the Promanade Lounge, since it would be a tad cooler. Then heading up to the party afterwards.

I've never been to any of them, but I certainly would LOVE to at least attend the martini one!!

Here's what we did for my last cruise, where we had over 100 DISers. We had everyone meet at the FAR end of the family beach. The first ones out there held a BUNCH of chairs & umbrellas probably the first two rows and at least about 5-6 sets across. It was right near the bathrooms, and close walking distance to the Heads Up Bar, where you can get some awesome photos of the Magic. There's an opening to the beach just past the little Bahamian local shops where we went.

The great part about that location is that a LOT of people stop as soon as they see the beach, so it gets crowded at the beginning. So, the end of the beach stays somewhat less crowded. My DH isn't thrilled about the walk back to Cookies for food, but it really wasn't that much of a walk back. For a larger group, it's a perfect location. And, it's nice to "know" the people around you and feel safe with your stuff and your kids.

I am posting to just let you know that I am lurking tonight.

I have one question, I heard parasailing at CC has been discontinued indefinately, has anyone heard when they may be restarting it? We have ressies for it, but have not heard anything officially from Disney.
