***April 2016 Thread***

Does DLR not offer discounts like WDW does? Our trip starts in less than 2 months and room discounts are offered through March. Of course I realize this is no guarantee, but I thought April was a slower time, so I thought we would see something by now? We will go regardless since we got airline tickets for $44 each way, but we are all hopeful for a better hotel room rate.

We are headed home April 1-6!! Have tickets, hotel and dining booked. Just need to check for reservations and wait for tickets to come in to link any passes we can get! We haven't been to WDW in about 8-9 years, so the whole magic band and all that is new to us!! Just super excited to be going back! Out in CA now (military) and have done DL a few, but it's nothing like the WORLD! :earsboy:

Considering first week of April - anyone comment on weather/crowds?

So excited to find this thread! DH and I are staying at the Disneyland Hotel April 26-30th. It will be our first DL trip together! We have been to WDW tons of times, and I have the parks mesmerized. I feel at such a loss with this trip. 71 days to go and I have no dining booked....because I can't! And now I am used to the FP+ system (as much as I griped about it when it first came out), and am going to have to re-learn the old FP- system. I am actually studying the maps and trying to memorize where things are :hyper:

Have a conference in Orange County on April 12-13, probably head over to DL in the evenings. I might also take an extra day and hit the parks solo open to close. Have all the Spring Breakers typically cleared out by then? If so, I wonder if that week is slow and parks close at 8, could put a little damper on my plans.

According to Touring Plans, April 12 and 13 are good days to go, with crowds only around a 2-3/10.

We will be surprising our kids. We will be flying in on April 17 and flying out April 22nd and have a 4 day park hopper pass. So April 18-21 in the parks. We are staying at PP. Does anyone know what the touring plans website says about crowds those days? I'm worried it will be busy. What about weather? I don't know how long I can keep this a secret from my kids. We might tell them at the airport. The last time we went it was the end of November 2014. So excited to take the family back

I saw a crowd calendar not on touring plans and it shows that the weekends will be packed but the weekdays will be alright. I'm assuming it's still a little busy that week as the east coast is out for spring break at that time.

Just planned, April 20-23rd- for my Bday. My DD (21) is in the DCP in Orlando and will be flying out to meet me. i have to change my scroll ( still reflects last Dec trip)- we will be staying at Best Western Park Place. Hoping to enjoy the Food and Wine on Friday the 22nd.

We will be there April 25-28. As a kid I made several trips to Disneyland (I even remember having ticket books), but haven't been to Disneyland since the mid-80s. I've made may trips to WDW since then, and I am super excited to return to Disneyland and to the origin of my obsession. I know so much has changed, but I am looking forward to seeing everything again with new eyes. YAY!!!

We will be there then too! I also went to Disneyland a long time ago, but have made many many trips to WDW since then. I am a much bigger WDW fan in general now, and I am so excited to go to Disneyland (The mother land...) and appreciate the history more than I would have before!

We will be at DLR/DCA on 4/3-4/4 for a quick 2 day trip.

First time taking a baby to Disney! Will be going with DH, DD (3) and DS who will be 5m. Bringing an Aunt and a Grandpa for back up :)

Our first time with a toddler in 2014 was a learning experience and I'm sure this time will be too!

Hi,
We are going 4/11-14. We were in S.CA for Christmas time, and took a day trip to DL, and even though it was SO packed, we loved it! Been to WDW many times. But, loved the compactness of DL, it was non stop magic not having to federal with so much transportation.
Since I am a DL newbie, I know the park schedule for my time will be out soon, but when can I expect to know parade and fireworks time?
We are sitting at DCA and have Cafe Orleans for dinner on first day and a late breakfast at Plaza Inn and EM Day at DL.
Thanks!

I, too, am wondering about parade and firework times and when those become available. I can tell hours and when they'll appear from the schedule, but wondering when entertainment appears...
Thanks dis-ers for any help!

Hi! We are heading down for a short trip over the kids' spring break. Currently staying at the new Marriott Courtyard across the street with the water park. It will be our first time staying off property unless a discount ends up coming out for that week with Disney. My husband has a conference in Newport Beach the begging of the week and we thought we would just add a few days in the park on the end to make it more fun. :) Staying April 6-10th. Kids are 14,12,8, & 8. Getting excited! <3

DD13 and I will be there 4/16 - 4/21, staying at Hilton Garden Inn and using ART and uber to get around. Looking forward to a leisurely trip with just the 2 of us and plenty of time to see it all. Going to make a couple of ADRs and have a rough plan for each morning but mostly going to wing it!
