April 2012 Car Rentals

Looking for anyone else who is renting a car for WDW in April 2012. What car rental agency and codes are you using?

I'll be there for Easter so I expect the rates to be higher. [We went for a week in Oct 2011 and got 1 week for $69 for a Chrysler 300...nice!]

When I checked rates, they were coming at at over $900, so I know the timing is not right now.

I used Budget X474200 with coupon MUWZ056 or MUGZ058 ($30 orr $25 off...really don't recall which I used or how much the discount will be when I return the car!)

Mini van -- April 21-28th -- $302 w/taxes

Thank you so much! Those codes do work for April 2012! I was having a very hard time finding a minivan for 9 days 4/21/2012-4/30/12 for under $700-800. With the above codes I was able to book the minivan for all 9 days....total of $415 including taxes and fees! I am still hoping it will drop down a little before our trip, but I feel better having this reserved as a more affordable backup!

I tried the coupon codes & it said they had expired. But it still gave me a rate of $343 for Mar 31 - Apr 10. Best rate on Alamo now is over $900!!!

I'm still hoping to use Alamo as I have used them numerous times in the past & have had success with them.

We're there over Easter so I'm expecting higher rates.

There's a thread on this board talking about this code & coupons -- I'm pretty sure it said we do not need a physical coupon.

We've gone many years in a row -- rental rates are outrageous this year (we've been spoiled by great rates). I'm hoping they drop as we get closer.

I used the Budget codes, X474200 with coupon MUWZ056 for the week of 4/14/12-4/21/12 and reserved a premium car, $298 for the week.
I'm always looking for a better deal.

These Budget codes work all the time, and are a great way of locking in a decent rate far in advance. I'd still keep watching though, the last couple trips, I've gotten much better deals about 2weeks out through Alamo. Keep on eye on the boards for codes.

I used the Budget codes for April 6-13 and got the $302 rate. Last year we paid the same through Alamo for Easter week. Not thrilled, but unless Disney offers some type of discount we will definitely be off site and will need a car.

Thanks so much! The best I could get was $500 for a mid-size at Dollar. Then I tried these codes and got an SUV for $302! We are going Spring Break for the first time and prices are crazy!!!!!

Not yet. I booked with budget for a standard car at 298.00 which includes the taxes etc. I will be there the last week of April so I am thinking that the rates should get better? Prices seem steep right now but so was the airfare this year.

I just tried those codes it I believe it won't let me as we are only 4 nights!! All I can get is $164 before taxes for an itermediate car!

Is that a good rate?
total is $217 4 nights & 5 days

anxiously waiting for some discount codes and coupons for April. We're staying for 10 days so it will be pricy no matter what but every little bit of a discount helps!

using those budget codes and coupon our total was $472. I will keep it in mind but keep looking for a better deal of course!

I'm considering a solo trip (involving lots of not-kid-friendly coasters), and I found a rate of $209/wk with a company called "Sixt". I'd never heard of it before. Has anyone else tried it? (I know it's not in the terminal, but when I'm not juggling family luggage, I can cope.)

Just checked Alamo again, with Visa ID 7015504 & coupon AD2338FDF for 20% off & $30 off. Best price is on a premium at $772. But this was over $900 when I last checked. It had better keep dropping...
