April 19-26 2024- RunDisney & Cheer Comp

Hi everyone, we would like to take our son down for his first trip for his 10th birthday. We would like to go April 19-26 which his birthday will fall. I do see rundisney is April 18-22 and Cheer competition April 24th. May I have some insight into these events? I'm feeling nervous but don't necessarily want to change the dates. Is it crazy busy? thank you

The parks may be a little busier, but my experience has been that you feel it more at the resorts where they're staying than at the parks. Some of the cheer groups can be obnoxious, but they're not nearly as bad as the Brazilian groups that go in the Summer (who have toned it down in the last few years but can still have terrible manners) So I would definitely try to avoid a Value resort... we stayed at one years ago during a cheer event and it was not enjoyable at all. Sometimes they stay in the moderates, too, but the values are the craziest for large school groups.

The good news is that it's the end of spring break season. We have the latest spring break starting on April 22nd, and generally speaking the week before is much more hectic with the Massachusetts spring break.
