Hello Everyone

Just wondering if any of you experienced cruisers can help us out. We're trying to book our flights - of course we can't fly out of NY/NJ area - prices are out of control (700pp). So we're thinking of flying out of Washington D.C. - my problem is I have two flights to choose from for the flight home. One leaves at 11:40 a.m. - the other is not until later that night. Does anyone know what time disembarkment usually is and what is the recommended time for flights home???? Is 11:40 too early (will we be able to make the flight)????

Any help is much appreciated!

Hi, yes we have been on two cruises and the ship docks about 7 am so you could get to the airport for that time of 11:40, but you will definately have to fly at that point. We usually have a flight back at 2pm and have to wait at the airport for alittle while.

Hi all! Hello to everyone and a big Disney/DIS board Welcome to our newcomers. I have not posted in a while, but I have been reading. I have been so busy the past few weeks..I have just finished a big literacy fundraiser for my school. We raised over 1200 dollars for literacy materials and events for our K-6 School. It was a lot of work, but worth it. I needed a second set of 8 hours at work a day to do the fundraiser! Last weekend I counted out over 3000 beads into little ziplock baggies! I felt like I had carpel tunnel during the days following that project!

Now I just can't believe the cruise is in a little more than a month...and of course, we could just say...NEXT MONTH...oh my! That sounds so fabulous!

I finally got around to renting our car for the 18th...we went with the convertible...if our luggage doesn't fit, we will just go back to the counter and take something bigger! But we are going to try!

Ant: Your friend is in our prayers. I don't think I ever got around to saying anything, but I have been thinking about both you and her.

I have had no luck with a fish extender on Ebay..they only ones I have found are in ebay stores in China or Hong Kong and they can't guarantee me getting it in time. I am going to go check out some material tomorrow. I am crafty but don't sew. I am sure I can figure something out!

Headed off to bed. My dad is visiting from NC and Emily has the flu. Fever and throwing up! Not a fun weekend here. Talk with you all later.

When are you flying? We are flying the morning of 18th from Westchester.
No excursions planned as of yet... still deciding.. I know we would love to swim with the dolphins... not sure what else yet. Any suggestions for me?

We are flying Friday am out of LaGuardia. We should arrive at MCO around noon. I tried to get tix out of Westchester, but the prices were too high. We ended up getting American Airlines rt for $175 pp. and that is non-stop.
We are staying at the CI&S. Flying home the 26th at 12:45 MCO to LaGaurdia.
As far as suggestions go: KW is a town you can just walk around on your own. I love it there. Last time we left the kids on the ship and explored on our own. We told them this time they can decide when we get there if they want to get off or not. It all depends on whats going on in the kids clubs that they may want to do.
GC: last time we did the Island Tour & Stingray City with the kids. We didnt go through DCL, we did it through Nativeway. It was the highlight of our trip. I would highly recommend it.
This time we are doing the Pirate Adventure thing through DCL. That should be fun.
Coz: last time we did the Fury Catamaran & snorkling beach tour. I cant remember the exact name. We did it through DCL and really enjoyed it. This time we are doing the Dolphin Encounter. I am really looking forward to it.


Gail, I would take the early flight. You can make it. Last time we had a noon flight so we ate breakfast on Deck 9, and got off the ship by like 7:30 am and we were at the port by 9:30 am. We had to go to Budget to get the car and drive back to Orlando so we rushed and ended up having time to spare. To top it off, our flight was delayed until 2pm! So we spent alot of time shopping in the airport.

Hey all,

I've noticed a few of you are like me --- busy and/or uncrafty and/or dangerous with scissors etc.

I special ordered a fish extender. It has 2 pockets (since there are only 2 of us and four would have been plain silly) and our name on it and is made of mickey patterned fabric in a color scheme I chose. I thought it was pretty reasonably priced and took a week from the day I odered it to the day it showed up on our doorstep.

Did you try Spirit out of Atlantic City-when we booked they were the lowest price.

I did try Spirit out of AC - they were in the same range as Jet Blue - from what I hear it's passover week and all flights around here are just crazy expensive. I think we'll drive the 4 hours to DC and fly out of there - it's worth the savings - 200 round trip as opposed to 700. Oh well, I guess it's better than driving the whole way which is what we were planning on.

This is what we are doing, it saved us about $1600, so now we will be in WDW. Why give the airline that money when we can give it to WDW.

weluvdisney5-I understand the airfare problem, I would drive to Baltimore too if it was the only reasonable fare. Seems the airlines get the school vacation schedules before we do. At least the drive is not bad.

I have been shopping the airfare forever... I ended up with Westchester at $270.00 r/t a person.. So, not bad... I like your rate much better though! Its amazing how expensive the airfare has become!

I am so bummed... I have been trying to get a reservation for the Dolphin Encounter in Cozumel. Its completly booked. I even called the Cruise line..Nothing! I am hoping there is some cancellations when I board the ship.. Probably not...But Hopeful! What do people do if they arent internet savy? I am sure, not everyone registers online, like we do. There must be an opening for me to squeeze into...Palo is also booked solid! I am not having any success! This is our first DC.. I had no idea I needed to book everything so far in advance. We have been on other cruises, just never experienced everything booking so fast. Let's see what happens!
