April 19, 2008 - Western - VERY Early Roll Call - Anyone??!!

Just a question about travel to MCO. Of you who are flying, how many of you are taking American? We are, and I'm getting a little nervous about all these cancellations. We are flying in the day before but I really don't need to have anything like our flight being cancelled added to my list of worries. So to all those flying AA here's hoping they get there planes inspected before the end of next week.

pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

A little pixie dust for all of us who are flying. It seems many of the airlines are having some sort of issue. I told my husband if we find a problem with our flight on the 18th when we get to the airport, we need to just go home, pack up the car and start driving because there is no way I am going to miss that ship. Especially when we don't have travel insurance. :scared:

Hey, how about the sailaway party itself? We will have already put everything in our cabins and did the life boat drill, then we can REALLY relax and have some Bahama mamas! :woohoo: If everyone thinks this is a good idea, we could meet on deck 10 overlooking the goofy pool?

Colleen

I think this is a good idea too. That way it is not so rushed and it would be nice to get settled in our cabins before having to rush off and Yankee Swap. I guess we need a consensus. Everyone???
Angie

Hi guys, just back from the Orthopedic, and he does not believe it is a break. He does see a line near his growth plate, but believes it to be just swollen as he put it to my DS (a really wicked bad bruise). He wants to see him again on Friday and if things go the way he believes them to, NO CAST!!! :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: And he can play lacrosse when we get back....:yay: Thanx again for the support.:flower3:

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Great News

:scared1: :scared1: Not so great news. I just sat down for the first time in 2 days and heard about AA. DH is flying in from Dallas on them and meeting us at MCO at 9pm. I will have the 3 kids and all the luggage. He can not take an earlier flight and the only airline is AA at that time. I'm stressed about this and he isn't ( yeah, he won't be stuck with 3 kids, 5 suitcases, 5 carryons , rental car, Publix and hotel check in by himself and then do Epcot/DHS on Thurs early am. I need to research some alternatives. :hyper2: :hyper2:

And DD7 came home sick from school with GI virus and fever. Told other kids to stay away or they will be left in PC. Mojito please.

Hooray for single digit dance, I think:banana:

The only problem I see with this idea is that some folks (umm... I wonder who) are going to want to be right down in front dancing and acting the fool with the rest of 'em.

From what I've read, they usually let us on early and for the most part rooms are ready for you to stow your stuff at 1:30, so I think 2pm is probably realistic. Castaway Club members ... what say you?

They always let people on early - usually about noon. Still , maybe 3:00 would be better for the meet - the safety drill is at 4 PM. Should we change our meet to 3:00?

I think the gifts for the Yankee Swap should probably have a label - they should be marked adult, teen, or kid - what do others think about that?

I think the reason we made it 2 instead of 3 was so we don't bump into the lifeboat drill. The Yankee Swap is going to take a few minutes ... or at least the ones I've been party to in the past do.

I think labelling the YS gift with the age level is a great idea!

Regarding Fishlips. Now that we are down to 3 familys, should we really go ahead with it?We will spend the day at KSC like Techjpm and would like to go to the beach afterwards. But we would skip that if the others want to go toFishlips.I need to now untill Saturday because we´re off by Sunday:banana:  .So,please let me know what you think.
Take care
Conny:flower3:

Either way is fine for us - I was wondering if anyone was going to still be going by the time we left. It was a little late for my guys to eat anyway.

So is the get together for the first day now 3PM?

Hi
They normally let people onboard around noon. There is plenty of time ´till 2,a meeting at 3 is a very rushed event because of the safety drill.
I talked to my Sister yesterday and we,too are not coming to Fishlips. We have planned something else.
Techjpm-how I understand it,the Yankee swap is at the Dismeet. We see you and your family at KSC.
Anyway,we´ll be at the Promenade LKounge at 2 and see if anyone is there.Iwon´t be online before our trip and see you guys next Saturday.
Have a nice trip to Orlando everybody
Conny

Let's split the difference on the Meet / Swap. ...... can we compromise and say 2:30 in the Promenade Lounge??? :) :)

I am trying to ignore the airline stuff, we're not on AA, but now they're saying that others are going to be affected also. :scared1:

Just heard the forecast for today - 60's!!! :cool1: But then we'll have rain turning to snow on Saturday and a cool, raw day on Sunday. Like everyone has been saying.... I need a vacation!

OK, I though I was the only one here at this hour!:surfweb:

Nope, nope, nope.... but how mad you are depends on where you are. For Conny it's at least something like almost 12 noon, I'd think (only because I know England is 5 hours ahead of me and I figure Germany must be at least another hour). It's currently 548AM here. But I have mitigation for my madness.... this is the only time the house is quiet. I guard my quiet time with fervor even making the kids go back to bed if they wake up too early :rotfl2:

I, too, am usually lurking about from about 5:30 on.
Like Denise, I like my quiet cup o' joe before the kiddos (DH and DD - lol) get out of bed.;)

Angie

I say, if you can get there by 2-2:30, then great. That way it gives us more time to talk then feel rushed getting it all done in an hour. :)

We are flying AA on friday 9am on the 18th. I am not worried now. If this is still a problem next week, then I will start worrying.

Dont stress about the airlines now. It is too soon. Airlines try and get these things sorted out quickly. They dont want people backed up for too long. I feel very strongly that they will have this resolved by this weekend. :wizard:

Good vibes.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

are you on this cruise too??
how many other TGMers are going?

Lisa, I recognized your screen name, but figured you didn't remember me! I just knew of the two of us TGMers on this cruise, until Cheryl's post.

Cheryl, what is your TGM screen name?

On another note, I'm taking off from work tomorrow to shop so I have something to wear on the cruise!:rotfl:

Glad everything worked out:goodvibes My DD is the goalie for lacrosse and last Saturday she got hit with the ball in the chest, right between the pads and at first I thought it was her hand. My first thought how wonderful that would be for the cruise and her Sweet sixteen celebration. :scared1:

I can't believe we are in the final stretch. Everything I said I would do this time and I didn't,oh well, Hopefully we will be packed on Sunday. and hopefully we won't have to drive next Friday instead of fly.

I was relased from physical therapy on Monday si hopefully I will be able to join the bahama mamas, but would 8:00 be al ittle more realistic?????

As far as the Dismeet goes.on our last cruise we didn't meet until 3:00 and we still had plenty of time to get to the drill. So I think 2:30 would work fine.Anyone want to meet up again on Deck 10 for the sailaway??

If anyone is going to be in WDW and would like to meet.DH and I will be stopping in at Jellyrolls on the boardwalk on Friday night around 10:00

Our internet and phone has been down at home since Monday and they won't be out till Saturday. The DDs are going through withdrawal.

The sun finally came out today but I think it will be short lived and back to dank and drearytomorrow. Ugh!!

Doing the single digit dance:dance3:

Hello everyone, I'm glad to hear the good news on the cast!(or lack of!). Don't you feel like keeping everyone in a bubble until we get on the ship!!!!

Anyways, I am definately up for meeting and especially if we could meet at the sailaway party, that would be FUN!
I had mentioned deck 10 because, unless you are up in front, on the side of the stage, you really can't see much or take good pix.
And about walking, we can play it by ear. Sea days don't really matter, but days at port, it might be too hectic to walk late in am. I'm very flexible on that, and to tell the truth, it's only to feel better about the amount of those tropical drinks I consume!

Have a good day all!!
