April 17, 2011 on the Dream

Good morning everyone.

My daffodils popped this weekend the minute the snow melted off them! they were sure eager! It is so good to see melting snow!
My daffodils just raised their little heads as well!! Checked yesterday and there they were. BUT....I'm pretty sure that today they're wishing they could go back down, underground!!!!

Awesome news on all your cabins! Time to do a little dance!:cool1::yay::woohoo:

I have lanyards for my kids and my DH but they don't have a pocket on the end to hold their KTTW cards. Can you suggest something to use and where I might get it?

Thanks!

EVERYONE - please double-check the DCL website to see if you were granted a surprise upgrade! :)

What you talkin bout Willis?? What surprise upgrade??

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I think what Deb meant, was that for those of us that were GTY who have now been assigned cabins, the DCL site still shows your original booking category. But when you look up the cabin number on the deck plans, there is a chance that you were upgraded. I'm not sure if they will upgrade folks with an assigned room. Maybe someone else could chime in on that one...

Actually, DCL reserves the right to change any of our cabins at any time, right up to when you arrive at the port. Usually, though, by 30 days out everyone is settled in.

Occassionally, DCL will grant an unexpected pixie dust upgrade. You read about them every once in a while on the main cruise board. Based on the new GTY assignments, and looking over our FE list, it appears that at least one of us (not me) has received a pixie dust upgrade! Either that, or two random families are sharing one cabin - :scared1: - surprise!

I believe that WalMart and sporting goods stores carry small, flat waterproof pouches in the camping section that would be perfect for KTTW cards. :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone!

Many of you are eager for the latest, greatest FE list of participants. :goodvibes Currently, I'm waiting for the GTY people to let me know their cabin numbers, first. :thumbsup2 I've only heard from two so far. And then there's the little issue of possible pixie dust upgrades. So, please, everyone verify your cabin number on DCL's website and let me know ASAP if you have any changes. I hope to have all the info reorganized by Saturday afternoon, then I will send pms out to all participants. Remember - the final day to join the FE Exchange is 4-1-11. pirate:

Been very busy and I have not been on the board in several days. Who ever posted about the 6 week thing freaked me out too!!!!!! But, I accomplished mission #1 today:

Bought a new dress for a fundraiser dance this weekend that is perfect for a dress for dinner on board.

Mission # 2 is going to be to get the kids some warmer weather clothes... and oldest DD needs a new bathing suit or 2. We are so booked up in the next couple of weeks Im not sure when I can squeeze it in, but I need to soon!

BTW- older DD is so excited about the stingrays she took a book out from the library to read about them! :goodvibes

Lots of flooding in the area Monday and more to come later this week. But I see the daffodils peeking through the ground and less snow in my yard, so its all good!

Other than that, we have decided to put our house on the market (in May), so its been very busy around here with some small projects to finish. Its definelty distracted me from this cruise stuff :)

Yep, lots going on.... 39 more days according to the DCL site... but less till we hit FL. :scared1: better get my to do lists in ORDER :)

I had a strange experience the last two calls I made: one was when a lot of us almost had a heart attack bs we could not log-in on line and when a lot of us were calling at the same time, so I ignored 20 min wait time and the tone of the conversation we had - I was just so happy to hear that our reservations were not cancelled for some strange reason.
Today, I called again bs my Mom expressed an interest in joining us :yay: and also to confirm a few other details. I had ZERO waiting time. :cool1: However, the rep. did not sound like Disney rep. at all :sad2: Yes, she tried to help in all areas of concern, but just the tone of our conversation was not right - it was as she was SO annoyed. :guilty: I had her on a speaker phone. When I hang up, my DD said, "Mom, she didn't say "have a magical day!" So true, lol. How are your calls? I am just curious....Maybe I will call them later again, just for "research" purposes
P.S. - DM can not join though our cabin is for up to 5 people because the ship is FULL! :guilty:

Does anybody want to exchange books on CDs to listen while driving to FL? We have a few we listened on our way to FL last year, and we would gladly exchange them with anybody interested for the books we did not read/listened to yet. :goodvibes

sorry, it's me again :cutie:

Thank you and Happy International Women's Day to everyone too:lovestruc and Mardi Gras Day (Fat Tuesday):cutie::yay:

AND Shrove Tuesday = Pancakes for Dinner!! Love Pancakes for Dinner and the only time I get to indulge in this is Shrove Tuesday!! We had chocolate chip and plain. It was good and very filling.
We are in the midst of State Testing - MSA (Maryland School Assessment). Connor is having lots of anxiety over it, today was the first day. His anxiety just stems from wanting to be perfect. The middle school students I work with just can't this type of pressure, anxiety, frustration, etc. So it makes for two fun-filled weeks. We tested today and also tomorrow for Reading and then next Tues and Wed are Math. Once MSA is over it feels like a down hill ride to the end of the school year.
I have been working hard on FE gifts! Getting a lot accomplished!!! Yay!!
Debbie

Wow impressive upgrades to 5E everyone!!! Congratulations!!!

:thumbsup2

On our last cruise, they were having difficulty filling the ship, so I downgraded to a guarantee, was then assigned a cat 8, and bought back to a verandah at the port - saved almost half the cost of the cruise. It was a great risk to take. Would not do it this go round, though because we need the same cabin both cruises back to back and the ship is so full.

Diane, I know! I keep thinking those poot little buggars are in for a world of hurt now that they popped! It is terribly cold out!!! Just got another delivery of pellets for a our stove because winter's not over but our supply is! :scared1:

Oh, can not wait, can not wait, can not wait!!!

Castlegazer-

Are you in a 5E also? According to the deck plan, we are right outside the Oceaneer Club. I'm hoping it's not too noisy with kids coming & going....not that we spend much time in our room but you never know!

Debbie,

I know exactly how you feel. My oldest completed day one of reading today and tomorrow will be his second. I set expectations high last year by having super fun protein filled breakfasts, special snacks and lunches and just can't seem to pull it all off and make it to work on time this go-around. At least there's no homework during MSAs to contend with!

E.

Packed yet?
Anyone else starting their pre-packing yet?
I just dragged out my summer duds and realized a few of my bathing suits need some adjustments, so I'll be doing a little non-FE related sewing this weekend. :laundy:

I have a bin in my bedroom full of clothes, bathing suits, belts, sunblock, etc. It was the only way to make sure everyone had everything they would need. (A little shopping at Kohl's.com was necessary and a trip to the local outlet mall as well.)

When I saw the location of the cabin was way aft on deck 5, I was more concerned with it being over the night club than I was with noise from the kids clubs. But I plan to be in the club myself at least a night or two so I guess it will be ok

Speaking of which, how's the girls night at the club list going? Any updates?

You're right...I'll be bummed if that's a problem. Are you close to the OC too? I've got to find out more about that girls night! :woohoo:

Reading MSA completed! Yay!! I have no expectation of making breakfast, I'm still trying to get ready in the morning. It has gotten so bad that Connor has started making my coffee in the morning! :scared1: And he can make a great cup of coffee. I am so glad there is no homework!! One reason to like MSA's...well only one reason...

No where near packing and I think I may hit panic mode if I thought about the reality of how many days are left. We are in NJ this weekend for DH's Oma 90th bday. Then next weekend Connor has a Nationals Qualifier tournament and we will be back in NJ for Asia and my Dad's bdays! The following weekend I will be recovering from outpatient surgery. We are now to the beginning of April. On top of all this... I am having my Wisdom tooth pulled on Fri. morning :scared1: and I hate the dentist. I wanted to be knocked out for it but when I went to the Oral Surgeon for a consult he told me I would have to pay approx. $500 out of pocket because I am only having one tooth pulled and insurance would not cover! So it is a local for me. :rolleyes1
Got FE gifts to work on... No more procrastinating!!
Debbie :goodvibes
