April 15, 2006 - Spring Break -

John, I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's skiing accident. I hope that she will be in full recovery soon. best wishes! Maria

Oh John, I just can't imagine what you are going through. Your daughter is so lucky to be alive!! My prayers and thoughts are with you through this difficult time. I am just so happy to hear that no surgery is required. :goodvibes

Ok lets see now about the excursions.

St. Marteen- we are also heading up to Orient beach via a taxi
St. Thomas- we are doing the Doubloon at 12:15 via DCL
CC- I am parasailing at 11:30 and then doing the stingray at 2:00

We are trying to get Ryan used to the snorkeling gear.

Well anyway talk to you soon- :wave2:

OK everyone

brainstorming time

last cruise all the DISers met on deck 10 above the sailaway party at about 3pm for a 45min get together / meet and greet befre the sailaway began

One of the DIS'ers had a button making machine at home and made buttons for everyone with their names/boardnames

Someone else had t-shirts made up with DIS on it and DCL stuff on it

Someone else handed out little jars of bubbles to everyone

Is this something you are interested in doing? A get-together before the party and maybe some types of things to give away to identify ourselves....

your thoughts please?

- D

David-

I think that at least some type of name tag would be nice for the meet and greet. I really like the bubble idea for the kids. I am sure Oriental Trading has some great buys on bubbles and stuff. I will start brainstorming on some other ideas too.

:tink:

i like that idea as well - great way to also break the ice with kids. I can't think of anything right now - but it would have to be easy to pack considering the number. I will think about it more and let you guys know.

Do we have any idea of how many kids, etc we will be buying for????

I found some leis that are clearanced... ????

they have yellow-green-pink-white and red

I need to know before the sell them all.. lol

based upon my latest list - which keeps changing - and assuming everyone would want to meet / greet: I count 28 kids

Updated

we should start planning a meet and greet before the Sailaway party - we usually meet up on Deck 10 - right above the party / dance floor

here is the list as we know it

Hannah and Jordan, DD 9.5 and DS 6 of DJS113 - David
Ryan, DS 6 of MaryPoppinsiam - Mary
Kevin, DS 15 of Swede63 - Marc
Gabrielle and Mathew, DD 10, and DS 7.5 of DVCfromNJ, Maria
Madison, DD 10 of UWbadger, Sherri
Brian, DS 10 and Brendan, DS 8 of MV Photon - Kevin
Bree, DD 9 of Chris and Renee
Ben, DS 13 of JDietz40 - John
Ali - DD 12, JC - DS 10, Chris - DS 8, Katie - DD 6, of Disneycruisin - Cindy
Leigh - DD 12, Patrick - DS 10, Ryan - DS 6, Ben - DS 3 of Kathy - Kathyfm1
Robert - DS 13, Rachel - DD 8, of Joy - JoyV
Nicole - DD 6, Michelle - DD 6, of Tatt / Rose
Martin - DS 12, Mathew - DS 5 of Gerard / Betsy
Brandon - DS 7, of Kim - JustKimm
Hannah - DD 7, Christopher - DS 3, of Sara - Wonderfun

So currently 11 DD and 17 DS...

so should I go get 60 mixed colors(if they still have that many) and they may get 1-2 each... depending on the final count??? or do we need more for parents and extras??

any suggestions are welcome and appreciated....

Thanks

I would suggest 1 each - 2 each might get too hot with all the dancing at the sailaway - LOL

The kids will getting enough stuff !

- D

what do you guys think about little journals or activity books? i thought it might be good to have some sort of activity book for the younger kids and journals for the older ones so they can write about what they did at the end of the day or just have something to do on the plane back or something....i'll check if i can get them at a party favor store or a paper/book outlet...

Quick question

What is the difference between doing a DCL excursion for St Thomas(Magans(sp?) Bay) and just getting taxi there instead?

a decent chunk of money

dcl included the beach chairs waiting for you on the beach - on your own you pay at the hut and take it yourself

we did the dcl excursion last time, we will go by cab ourselves

it is a quick 15 cab minute ride over the mountain to the other side

Greeting to all,
My wife is a cast member at the Disney reservation center. We just paid for out April 15 cruise. Beside my DW, we will have DS-25, DD-18, and my youngest DS-9. My oldest DD and her husband and my 2 grandkids were going to come with us but her DH could not get off from work. We look forward to seeing you all. We'll have a grand time!

Update on my dd, She has improved some these last few days, my poor dw is a basket case. For the first time she was able to sit up and feed herself, four spoons of soup and 3oz of yogurt. She sleeps in the lounger because she can't get out of bed on her own. She'll get another MRI on Friday and I'll pick it up before we go back to the Doctor on the 16th. My wife took a leave from work to be with her every day, she goes back on the 14th, so I will be the babysitter for dd till we feel she can be left alone, probably anothe 4 weeks or so. On a happier note I seewe are at 68 days. This will be a much needed cruise. Thanks so much for the prayers and pixie dust, it is much appreciated

John & Mary :cheer2:

John I am so thankful that your daughter is getting better. I hope everyday that she becomes stronger and that the MRI doesn't show anything new. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I truly believe you and Mary will need a restful vacation. :sunny:

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!!

We have decided to spend the week before the crusie at WDW. Our children have that week off for Spring Break!! We are actually going to stay on site at the All Star Sports. We have never done this before. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Is anyone else going to be in WDW the week before the cruise?

How is everyone doing with all of their planning?

~Cindy :cloud9:

57 Days!!!!

Today is my first official baby sitting day. Who ever thought it would be my 29 year old DD. She has been getting better every day . She can now feed herself and has graduated from chicken soup. Although she can't do a lot of chewing. Tomorrow we go to the Specialist in Phila. My wife is back to work after a two week leave to take care of dd. We're not comfortable leaving her alone, so we'll watch her till the collar comes off. I'll really be ready for this cruise by then. Thanks again for the the prayers and pixie dust.

John

continues pixie dust

Cindy,

we are all planned and ready!

how are you with your bookings?

- David

Cindy-
We are staying at All star Music Thursday and Friday before the cruise and then Saturday after the cruise. This will be our first stay at the value resorts. I am used to staying either at the Beach Club or the Swan, but hey I am just so happy to be going to WDW along with the cruise.
We have our excursions and all our reservations completed. I am just looking forward for some fun and lots of sun.

Talk to you guys soon-
