April 15, 2006 - Spring Break -

Usually take the family on DCL for the summer, now with the Magic in the Med. I don't know what to do. Tough to take the Gkids out of school and the oldest will be in College next Sept. Hate the thoughts of going on another line, I guess we could try the Wonder on a B2B 4day-three day. :guilty:

Airfare to Europe for eight looks like I'd have to mortgage the House. Too much to spent $40,000, probably closer to 50K on a cruise. DW and I discussed going ourselves but that looks like 10 or 11K, I could go on 4 DCL cruises for that. :confused3

Holy Cow!! :faint: I can't believe the prices for the Med. Cruise. In general I would rather not cruise if going to Europe anyway. I just don't think I would get to see everything I wanted if on a ship. But it would be fun though! OH well I am looking foward to the upcoming cruise- now what to bring that is my question (ok- maybe what NOT to bring). :rotfl2:

Hello all!!! :wave2:

I did buy those leis a month or so ago so we have plenty of those!! :thumbsup2

I will be happy to see our countdown when it is under 30 days!! hehe

We have the luggage out from the storage area and I have been deciding what to pack. It makes it alot easier to get warm weather clothes ready to pack when you know that there will be no need for them before the cruise. Although DS(13) would wear shorts 365 days a year if we would let him. We still have not decided if we will do a door sign everytime we start to design one we decide we don't like it.

Hi all,

We are getting close :bounce: Is anyone else staying at the Airport Hyatt at MCO on the night before our cruise? we decided that it was easier to stay at the Hyatt and will take a limo to the port on Saturday morning. We stayed at the Hyatt once before when we arrived late in the evening.

See you all soon. :cool1:

Hey John

I have been out of touch for a week with work ... go figure

yes we are staying at Hyatt MCO as well - we arrive into MCO around 5

We always stay there - but we take the DCL busses over to the Port

so convenient

we should definitely get a drink together that Friday night

- D

Sounds like a plan to me. :thumbsup2 We arrive around 4:40. It's perfect timing to me since we should be able to get into the room as soon as we arrive.

David and John

Well my son and I are also staying at the Hyatt the night before as well. We arrive around 6 and will be taking the DCL bus to the port.

Do you think it will be nice and warm to enjoy the outside pool that eve?
I know that after we check in we plan on grabbing something to eat either at the airport or at their restaurants.

I forget what age your kids are again.. hehe My son turns 7 the day before we leave..

I just got my GTY room assigned!! I got upgraded from a 10 to a 9 and saved around $1500!! Yippee!! My son loves that he will have a big porthole window now!! :sunny: We are on deck 2 anyone else ?? I have read that it is a good room not noisy even though it says that in passporter.

Just had to share and now it is sinking in that it is getting closer!!
Have a great weekend!! :yay:

Add me DW, SIL, BIL and two nephews 4 and 6 to the group! This will be mine and the wifes 6th DCL cruise. The first for the rest of the family. We still have GTY for a veranda, but no room assignment yet. See ya all real soon! :bounce:

hi DJS113,

You can adjust your list with our names, DH-Bill, DW-Teri, and DS17 is Alex....Thanks and let the count down begin!!!!  :Pinkbounc

Hello everyone,

I can't believe how close we are getting to the cruise!! :cool1:  I really need a vacation. The weather here in Northern CA has been really very strange. We have had a small amount of snow and lots of rain. I could use a little sunshine!!
:sunny: :sunny:

My girls (12 & 6) are very excited and ready to go. They got out their summer clothes today. They tried everything on to see if anything would fit. As you can imagine... this turned into a whole "fashion show". Of course my boys (10 & 8) refused to even look at their clothes. I think they get this from their dad. ;) I will have to force them to do it this week. I hopeful that they have a few items that will still fit.

I can't wait to be on the ship!! Where someone will be taking care of me for a few days... no laundry, no cooking, no cleaning. Life doesn't get any better then this!! :cloud9:

Kathy ~ Do you think your DD (12)would be interested in meeting up with my DD (12)?

~Cindy

Cindy, I couldn't agree more! :thumbsup2
We have also had some weird weather. Last night we had quite a few tornados hit around us and golfball to baseball size hail. Luckly we had few damages. I love spring, but I really don't like the weather patterns sometimes here in the Midwest.

I told my wife I was disappointed we couldn't go down early as I saw Dave & John were staying at the Hyatt and she said they weren't working Friday, as it's good Friday didn't realize, so I called US AIR and changed our flight. We arrive at MCO at 1:57pm so I guess we'll be the first there, Make sure you give us a call maybe we can have dinner. Forgot to ask for room number was so excited to be going down early, surprised they didn't charge me for making the change. I guess there is some advantage to paying $900 for the flight. :cool1:

My Mother died 6 yrs ago and today I was looking through some papers she had saved and ran across the Hospital bill from when I was born 6-28-43. She had a private room and was there for 10 days. Total bill $88.60 includes the phone bill. Amazing

Add a 3 on the front of that and that is what it cost per day for a normal natural birth (no c/sections, no epidurals, oh and not counting the doctor fee for delivery), just a room basically with the occasional nurse coming in. :lmao: Only a nurse could say that last comment ( :rotfl2: )

I hear that the hospital administration says that the high prices are due to the overpaid underworked nursing staffs who get to many fringe benefits.

Or at least that what they tell everyone at DW's hospital.
