April 15, 2006 - Spring Break -

It comes in groups, I had to call an ambulance to take my Father to the emergency ward. Had to call my DW at work to go to my daughters and watch her. Should be an interesting few weeks. 51 please hurry

You are so right- you do need a vacation. I hope everything is ok now. Just remember there are sunny days ahead! :sunny:

Hi all

just back from a week long ski trip to Vermont

John - even more pixie dust at you

Does anyone want to chat tonight at 9pm on the cruise chat?

- David

Just came back from the movies with the kids and we saw a preview for the new Disney animated movie called "The Wild"

It opens on April 14th!!

Which means we will see the grand opening of it on the cruise !

This happened with us a few trips back when Finding Nemo opened on our sailing too.

Well this saves me $35+ bucks, seeing it for free ! LOL

You see the cruise pays for itself!

Hey there! Kimmielee is lurking on her old buddies....

David, How cool that you guys get to see a premier! I can't believe how close our cruises are getting!!

Mary, do you have the autograph book done that you started for your little guy? I'm JUST getting started! However, I think I've got everything else under control.... Now it's just the countdown! I think the Saturday night you guys are at All Star Music after your cruise is our last night at All Star Movies. Would that be the 22nd? We'll have to trade cell numbers and maybe have some pool time or a cup of coffee to hear about your cruise first hand!! Our's leaves on the 23rd - I changed to a 4 day.

John, continued thoughts and prayers to everyone in your family. pixiedust:

Everyone else... enjoy your cruise!! You have some great mates sailing with you! :grouphug:

Just back from Las Vegas Nevada today where the weather was 70 degrees. Beautiful. Flew back to Washington at 29 degrees. Now I am ready for the cruise.

I found some really neat Pirate Mardi Gras beads for the boys for Pirate Night in Vegas. They all love the Pirate thing. Now I just got to keep them in 1 piece until April.

Anyone know how strict they are on the age requirement for the kids clubs. My daughter is 12 but is turning 13 in June. She soooo wants to go to the teen club. She is 5 ft 6 and is mature for her age. Something about hanging out in the same group as her 10 year old brother has caused her some stress. (whining actually!)

Anyway, I just stopping by to say hello and look forward to meeting all of you SOON. David hope all is well in the Big Apple. I keep promising Leigh that I will take her for a mom/daughter weekend. She wants to see Wicked on Broadway.

46 Days. On top of everything I've come down with a bad sinus infection on Saturaday and of course you can't get a doctor, so here I am at 3:30 am throat is raw and can't sleep. There going to put a camera down my Fathers nose to look in his lungs tomorrow. Will be an interesting week. And things have been rolling along great for two years, aw well such is life, this will pass and the sun will appear. :teeth:

Hey guys can you believe we are getting so much closer to the cruising date? We also just got back from a bit of a vacation we have a hotel near us called The Great Wolf Lodge and it is a indoor waterpark with waterslides and pools so it was a nice change from the snow and ice. I wished I could have been in either Las Vegas or skiing.

Kimmie-
It was so great to hear from you!! I mistakenly said we were staying at the All star music, we are staying at the Movies instead. We will be there on the 22nd right after departing from our magical cruise. So we must get together!!
I have had Ryan's autograph book done since Halloween. I put all my other scrapbooking away and just focused on that, now I must get going on the other stuff. I have already packed Ryan's "surprise" backpack and it is ready to go.

John-
Good luck tomorrow with your dad and I hope you get over your lovely sinus infection. Is your daughter getting better?

David-
What is this about a movie coming out on the cruise? Did it look good? I wish so much that Pirates on the Carribean 2 movie would come out prior to the July premier so I could see it on the Jumbotron.

Well everyone I will talk to you later- Oh yeah does anyone of you have a camcorder? We are looking into one but I have no idea where to start. I love my Canon Elph digital camera but we just can't decide if we want to invest in a camcorder.

Talk to you all soon-

Kathy

space permitting

As long as you are within a month or two of the birthday - they are usually very accomodating on a "trial" basis - assuming no issues arise, then she would be able to stay all week

Mary,

the movie looks like a "Madagascar" type movie - looks cute

Kathy,

I picked up a new Sony camcorder last year - we like it alot

it is digital - burns right to a mini DVD, not to a digital tape (called MiniDV) like most of the others

pop right into your dvd player when you are done - readyto watch - very easy -- only drawback (which i don't mind) is that the mini dvd records only about 30 mins of filming per disc

i rarely would film 30 mins straight at one time - but if you were filming a 90 minute show - you would have to pop in another disc

I have the Sony DCR - DVD505

here is the link to info on the various types

http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INT...ICamcorders&CP=sony_hm_nav_elec_camcordershop

I find the best sight to get info and compare various models with reviews of all electronics in an unbiased way is at

www.cnet.com

good luck

Thanks David for all that great advice on the camcorders. I just don't know yet what we are going to do. I will probably just stick with my Elph, all that camcorder lingo just got me confused. :confused3

Rebecca is doing okay, I baby sit her everyday 9 to 5 pretty exhausting after two weeks, Dad passed his test and will be moved to a rehab nursing home for 4 to 6 weeks. I saw the Doc first thing monday and got my medi pack (steroids) and Azithamicyn(Spelling) and I was able to sleep all last night and am feeling a lot better. The medi pack really drains the sinus. 45 days and counting, :cheer2:

I look forward to cruising with the bunny
the problem with the nose a runny
could keep me from being funny
But you'll see me on deck 9 with my hunny
Enjoying my spent munny

John

Hi Eveyone, thought I would join in!
Myself, my DH and my 17yr old DS will be joinin you all on this cruise. I was preocuppied with my 20yr old DD moving to San Francisco and also a different cruise my DH and I were just on last month. So that s why I am just now joining in the conversation!
I will try to read back through all the post to see if you have already set up a meet or not. I just did my first meet wit a different ccruise line and different discussion board last month, I alwaysfelt too shy before to do this but after last month had a great time meeting all the new people I had been talking to on a discussion board, infact one of them sent a note to the cruise director and he actually had a private cocktail for everyone on the board, it was awesome!
If you don't mind saving me the time of reading back through the posts it would be great of someone would respond and let me know what or if there are any plans to meet up! Hope everyone has a great vacation!!!!

Welcome tkbk!! :goodvibes It should be a great time! David has a list of people that we have been chatting with for awhile I am sure he will chime in later and post the list for you.

We need to start deciding on when and where we are going to meet and if we need to bring things for the sail away party. Can you believe the cruise is almost here? :woohoo: :woohoo: I know a couple of pages ago we were discussing this topic. Lets start making a list of things people would like to bring for the sail away party.
examples: leis, bubbles, pom poms, or what ever else Oriental Traders may have. Lets get this party started :cheer2: :cheer2:

Talk to you later :wave2:

I sure felt like I needed this cruise yesterday while looking out at the snow falling but at least it is warming up enough to melt it already.

John

Guess how many days!

Everything is starting to correct itself. My DD is doing much better. Have to take her to the Spec. on the 23rd and would you believe I'm taking her to a GYN appointment. How many father's get to do that for their 29 y.o. daughter? My Father after about three weeks of being on vacation (sick & kind of out of his mind) just the other day came out of it, seems like his old self, so looks like we'll get to bring him home in the near future. Oh, boy, am I looking forward to this cruise. Get to book my Oct 7th cruise to go with the 9/30 cruise. Saw the Grandkids at church and they are counting down for the Alaska cruise 124 more days, can't wait to have some great family time.

Thanks again 4 all the pixie dust, they should really bottle it.

John & Mary
