I need some quick feedback. DH found out he fits back into his tux and is on the fence about wearing it. Is anyone else wearing a tux and gown? It may have been written previously, but I can't find it. If someone else is, it may decide it for him.

LOL

No long dresses for my Mom and I. Just wearing a nice dress to formal dinner that I would wear to a wedding. I am wearing the same dress for formal and semi formal night since I am not a dress up person at all.

Does anyone Know what is the earliest we can check in and board?

We are off to Orlando tomorrow!!! Fly from London tomorrow so I hope no more snow as lots of flights were cancelled today.

No tuxes in our group, I have one long-ish dress but I may save that until Friday night.

I believe the terminal opens at 10:30 and they say they start boarding at 1 but I believe they let people on at 12 or 12:30 but the rooms may not be ready.

Ok--we are bringing the formal gown and tux assuming dh can buy a new shirt at Kohls.

I finished by nametags. I found some breakaway lanyards at Staples and I luckily own a small laminator. I used the green mickey someone supplied here and then did my own design on the other side.

We have Palo on formal night, so we may not get to see anyone. Just realized that Christine will be on her own at dinner that night. Forgot that she has no "club" and I am not sure if the teen group does anything for them. I told her to go by herself if she wanted to or take one or both of her siblings. We'll see.

OMG--I can't believe it is this close. You guys do realize how depressing it is to come home after. LMAO!

Gonna go nap. Gotta practice.

I am wearing a gown and all the males (DH,DS14, DS7 ) are all wearing suits.
The boys would rather not but that is the price of admission to going on the cruise. My only goal the entire trip is to get a great family picture and a picture of the boys. I wish formal night they had the white background but I think the white background is on pirate night. Does anyone know if we can schedule a family picture time? Also is there a way to order additional pictures after the trip from a web site or can I buy a disk of the pictures?

We have a late seating for dinner and hopefully a few other do as well.

I have had some custom door magnets made that look great in comparison to anything I could create.

Kathy,

If I'm not mistaken and someone please correct me if I am wrong, they ONLY have a white background on all photo taking opportunities.

When we cruised last year on formal night the background was of the ship and another was a blue background. I hope I am wrong because I prefer the white background.

huh ... i wonder what i read ... i thought i read on the main boards that they only did white ... but now that you mention it, i do recall seeing pics with the ship in the background, etc ... well, we'll see in a week!! :woohoo:

The white background is considered their "Lifestyles" portrait and we got them on both formal nights and pirate night. I'm pretty sure she was stationed there every night (in front on the gangway doors where you board in the atrium). Each night they varied another background (ship, sunset, night) and that one was set up along the windows near guest services. They also have a station in front of the stairs, usually with a character and then up on deck 4 outside of Studio Sea and also in front of Walt Disney Theater. I start early in the night. We hit the line I want most for that evening first and then go around depending on who is where. Now they make it a little easier in that the Navigator will tell you which character will be where at what time so there is no waiting around to find out you missed so and so. On the evenings that weren't Pirate or Formal the lifestyles portrait (white backdrop) is doing some really cool photos now. She (or he) has the kids jump in the air and they come out really neat. I'm excited to try this. She does spend a bit of time with each family and takes multiple poses. My favorite family portrait ever is our pirate night photo from 2005 in front of the white background. If someone walks me through Photobucket I'll post it.

I keep trying to book a car service from the DIS BW RESORT on Sat am but the site is timing out and the company numbers all go to VM-Any other ideas- also, can we carry alchohol on the ship in our carry ons.

Dave,

I would say to try them first thing in the morning? Maybe just that they are closed this late on a Sunday night?

Also, regarding alcohol, yes, you can carry it on in your carry-on ... if you use a soft-sided cooler, be sure that you don't put any ice in it and you will be fine.

I have a nice SLR camera, and prefer to use my own camera instead of buying pictures when possible. A couple of questions...

1: Are we allowed to use our camera's with the official backgrounds? When? I assume only when they aren't being used? When would that be?

2: Anybody else an amateur photographer? Maybe we could trade camera duty so we could get our own posed family pictures with our own camera?

3. Is there any place (other than the backgrounds) that make a nice setting for a posed picture?

I know they'll take a picture with your camera at some stations, but I'm not sure about the formal backdrops. I usually hand the camera to the person behind me in line, but that doesn't always work out too well. Another nice shot is outside on deck 4 in front of the round life preserver that says Disney Magic.

Here is our pirate picture that I love. Sorry it's so big, I don't know how to shrink it.

I called DCL and asked about making a reservation for a family photo and they said it would cost something like EIGHTY DOLLARS!!!!!!!! :scared1: We said, "No thanks!"

We are hoping that one of the photogs will see what a great opportunity it will be to do a special sitting for our large group (lots of sales) and will go ahead and set up a meet with us. :confused3

gfolchick-- GREAT pirate pic!!! My boys loved it!!! Although, now they're a little scared of your daughter! :rotfl:

Bev

She scares us too :rotfl2:

Both kids have outgrown those costumes so I bought them new ones that actually match (a happy coincidence for mom).
