OMG--I can't believe it is this close. You guys do realize how depressing it is to come home after. LMAO!

Deb

Now that is something you DON'T need to share! LOL

In fact Jake and I were looking at pictures and found a bunch of good Castaway Cay ones - I said - we will be there the last day of our cruise and it hit us at the same time that it would be the END - He says - Let's not think about it! Then he says - we can always go again, right?
That's my boy!

Wow, I was gone for two days and look at all the posts.

For formal night Kayla & I am wearing gowns, and Tom & Tommy are wearing suits. For semi formal a little less dressy, still suits for the guys.

I still have to make name tags and dye shirts. Hopefully it is nice tomorrow to do the shirts outside. And then I should start packing.

Vickie

I bought pirate shirts for Tom & Tommy and blouses and skirts for Kayla and I. I made everything black, red & white to match for pictures.

We're doing regular dresses for Palo, Formal and Semi-Formal night. My guys are wearing suits (but have matching Disney ties).

Megan is now packed, two down, two to go!

TaraMom I love that cartoon. Where did you find it? I would love to have a copy. I guess I am Ariel as my DH want me to get fish nets for pirate night so we both had a laugh.
We both watched a DCL show on the travel channel today. even tho we are going in 3 days we still had to watch!

gfolchick - Wonderful Pirate Picture. I am going crazy getting our pirate costumes ready. I definitely need a great picture with us all dressed up!

KathleenlovesMickey - all of the pictures I have posted are links to the original. Just right-click and choose "save image as".

Meet Plan? Green Mickeys Plan? - I know someplace between page 60 and 81 is details on our meet and what we are supposed to do with the green mickeys. Could somebody please post it here because I can't find time to backtrack through the 20 pages I missed/skimmed.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: 4 more days to get ready! It is all of the details that are worrying me. Like black socks for DS and a white cardigan for me.

I also have a bunch of details to work out - like what I am going to feed my family when we get off our 6 hour flight at 10pm on Friday night. I also need a carry-on plan, since there is always the faint possibility that our luggage won't make it on the 6 hour flight.

Starting to panic here in California! :scared1:

Taramom22

The meet I believe is at 2 pm at the goofy pool. The green mickey heads are if you want to make a name tag. Mine says simply "Dis member, skuba2 and each name". I found lanyards at staples and I own a laminator.

Have you ever been to Orlando? The airport is basically in the same building as the Hyatt. I think it is one of the best airports for having a good selection of actual restaurants.

I am trying to type the letter for the school for their extra days out. I am putting it off so they can't complain. LOL!

Deb

Starting to feel the crunch here too ... in typical fashion, the kids are packed and Phil is packed ... because I had to pack them ... so now I get to do my packing which is really about 1/3 of the way done. I feel like Cinderelly!!! LOL Do the dishes, do the packing Cinderelly! :rotfl2:

Well since I am not 1/2 as creative (shoot, or motivated :lmao: ) as Deb and I already met her and know what she looks like, I'll be without a lime green DIS name tag, but sitting with her at the pool. We usually get to port around opening time so I'm sure we'll be onboard long before 2pm.

Wow, even Phil is getting excited now. Of course I had last minute alterations that had to be done ... picking them up on Thursday :scared1: from the cleaners ... manicures and pedicures on Wednesday, I hope!! Door decorations CHECK! They look so cute ... can't wait.

Hope you are all as excited as we are.

And I agree completely about how you feel when the cruise is over. Gabi keeps saying how she wishes that we were onboard right now and I keep explaining to her the excitement of the planning and the anticipation ... and to imagine how we will feel when we get off and don't have a cruise to look forward to anymore. :sad1:

We are down to crunch time people.

I made my last minute list for Walmart and swear I will only make one trip there. And for some reason I end up back there again and again prior to every trip.

I too am workng on the letter to write to the school for my son's adsences. My 14 yr old will miss five days but he should be find making up the work. We could not get a reservation the week he is on break.
Even with missing five days of school he is not thrilled about trip.
I think once he get there and meets a few kids he will be fine. I am dragging him to the pool meet at 2pm on Saturday, so bring your teeangers. Look for tall and miserable that would be him. I also made a magnet for our door that is a picture of him. He will just be thrilled.

See everyone soon!

We need a car service to pick us up Saturday morning from the Boardwalk and take us to the port. And then return Port to Airport the following week.

I have tried repeatedly FLTOURS, but their website continually gives me an error message. I called yesterday and they were working on it. Today I can not reach them and just get voice mail.

Any recommendations?

The car services are about $60 cheaper than the disney transportation.

We used Happy Limo car service. You can also rent a car from avis to just drive yourself to the airport.

We are renting a car when return because our flight does not depart until 8 p.m. on Saturday.

We are renting from Avis.

We rented a car both directions from Thrifty. It seemed so much cheaper than a limo. There are 5 of us, so we needed a van. Renting a van was about $70, but booking a car and driver with enough room for 5 was so much more. I sure hope I made the right choice.

Another reason to drive ourselves is so we can stop at ABC liquor for wine and rum. Anybody else doing that?

Since we are down to crunch time a reminder for those who have missed some items.

There will be a morning walk with some Disers, our first will be Sunday morning, deck 4, port side at 7:30 a.m. There is still lots of discussion around a start time so hopefully we can pick a time on Saturday at the Dis meet or even Sunday morning with those who walk.

The majority of people want an earlier start.

I cannot wait until Friday morning when Mom and I fly down to the World, then Saturday meeting everyone!

we used Happy LImo in the past for all 10 of us. They were great, they did a shopping stop before we got to WDW and when we were going back to the ariport they sent a long white limo. The grand kids were so excited...Not much room for luggage, but he got it all in.

They give a discount if you say you read about them on the discussion groups.

Wow!! It's sooo close, we can't wait!!!:yay:

If I have to go to the store for one more thing I am going to scream. It seems like I have been shopping everyday for the past month.

Pirate costumespirate: will be done tonight, suitcases 3/4 of the way packed, need to do the door sign and need mickey name tags.

We may not be at the meet till closer to 3pm. Wait for us please!!! We are looking forward to meeting all of you.

I totally spaced PTA meeting this morning. OOPS! I was on the phone to a sis-in-law discussing the cruise. Go figure!

For those of you writing excuse letters to schools: I taught high school for 25 years, and my motto has always been, “Any kid who goes through 13 years of school with no absences, needs to get a life!!” You learn so much more outside of school, that perfect attendance is not all it’s cracked up to be! Yea for parents who take their kids on trips!!!!!

I had a question that I can’t remember, but now I have another one.

Do we need to show our passports when we disembark at St. Maarten? Or can we just leave them locked up the whole trip?

You will only need your passports when we dock in St. Thomas during the cruise. There will be a scheduled time in the morning-----very very early in the morning----where we all trek to the Theatre to show ourselves and our passports to the agents. Everyone has to physically show up--even little ones. We drag ourselves down in our pj's with a cup of coffee. It is pretty quick, but they can hold up letting anyone off until they get the ship cleared.

As far as getting off and on at the ports, you need to take off with you your kttw card and a photo id. Everyone needs their kttw card as they scan it going off and coming on to keep track of who is on and off. The photo id is only for adults. Drivers lic is just fine. Your bags will be scanned through security on the way back on and your id's checked.

For those not showing up at 2 pm, I plan on hanging there until about 15 minutes prior to the safety drill. That will give us enough time to go down and get our vests.

We are renting from avis as well going and coming. Our flight isn't until 4:30, so we plan to explore on the way home. Keep in mind that luggage takes up space when figuring out what to rent. We hit the max with the van last time and 5 people. Decided to go to the larger suv.

Ok--just when you think you couldn't plan anymore or hear one more tip---I've got one.

You can request a certain dining rotation. The preferred one on the Eastern cruise is PLAPLAP which coincides with the themed nights. Formal night being Sunday night in Lumieres and Pirate night in Parrot Cay. It is the 6:00 on if you have the early seating. Just call and have them put it on your reservation. They try their best to grant it.

That is it. That is about all the info I have. We have all lived the cruise forward and back now. LOL!

Do you know which dinner time that is for late seating?
Thanks,
