Cruising fun - Are you home sick with strep or is it your DD? Hope whoever it is feels better soon! Warm beach, cool drink....yup, definitely the right prescription!!!! Hang in there...one more month!!!!!!!!

It's me I guess I would rather have me sick than my DD. She is as healthy as can be right now...I hope it stays that way. I am a teacher and the kids in my class have been really sick. I am the fourth one in the room to get strep. I am a little better today...the antibiotic is kicking in! I am in disinfecting mode so my husband and daughter don't get sick...everyone will be healthy for this trip!!!! That was nice of you to ask!

We found out our flights. We arrive in Orlando at 11:30 on the 11th so we definitely won't be able to meet everyone at port. Keep me posted if another meeting is being arranged...I would love to meet all of you!

By the way, those of you keeping this trip a secret from your kids....I give you A LOT of credit!!! I am itching out of my skin with excitment and I am not keeping it a secret. I don't know how you are doing it!!!

Yeah, the cruise could never stay a secret in my house once it's booked.

Last year when we told the kids about our 3 day cruise my DS10(well 9 then) and I came up with a countdown calendar. He decorated a piece of cardboard and I put a sticky notepad on it with a "Days left until our Disney Cruise" theme. It went up on the frig and every night after dinner we pulled a sticky off. It was so much fun that nobody had the heart to take it down when we got back. It stayed on the frig all year until we booked this cruise. Then I sneaked it off and put a new sticky pad on it. We wrapped it up and gave it to the kids. My DS15 had an idea what it was so he pretty much let his little brother open it and see it first. (Isn't he sweet? ) Anyway my DS10 looked into the box and his eyes got huge. , he looked up and said, "WHAT? Are you serious? We are going on a cruise in 39 days!!??" It was great because the older son who had an idea we were going on a cruise had no idea it was that close so even he was like, "WHAT?" Then when we told them it was a 7 day my DS10 just started running around the house he was sooooo excited.

Sorry I just had to share. Moments like that make my year and are what make me a vacation junkie!

The Travel Channel will be airing The Disney Cruise Line show this Friday. We've seen it before but it will be great to have the kids watch it and pump up our trip even more! It will be nice for DD 4 to see it!

I totally want to be in on the fish extender thingie! My mom will whip one up for us, she's crafty like that!

I STILL have not told DS (nearly 8) about the cruise yet! I might tell him tonight (30 days out from traveling since we start our vacation on Friday 4/10). We are going out to dinner with my mom to celebrate my birthday (which was yesterday, but I didn't get to see my mom). If I don't tell him tonight at dinner, I am going to tell him on Friday night as we watch the Disney Cruise Line show!

Cruising fun - We can try another meet around 3 or 3:30 before the drill. (Isn't the drill at 4pm?) Other Dis'ers have arranged meets in the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3. Anyone up for that? (Glad your feeling better. Clorox the classroom and no more hugs for the students until you get back from your trip!)

I need to make a calendar for the countdown! Then DD 4 can see how many more "sleeps" we have until our trip.

Watching the Disney Cruise Line special on Friday night and then telling your DS about your trip is Brilliant!!!!!!!!! I would love to see his face!

As soon as they go to bed I'm looking online and updating my packing list and all the fun stuff. So tonight I went through and tried to figure out who is definately in for the fish extender. Hi All!!!

Geesh....take a few days off from the boards and looky all that has happened!!!

Okay....Fish Extenders....YES...we are IN!!! For those worried about pricing....I went to JoAnne's yesterday and bought ALL materials (cloth, dowels, embellishments, ect) for just $16.00. Ours will be made of felt so VERY easy to sew and glue together.

We are in Cabin 2508
Myself - Ana
DH - Nick
DD - Jade 16 y/o
DD - Jasmine 2 y/o

I see someone has organized a list of who is participating.....is there going to be a master list created that will have all the participants along with stats of who is in the cabin? Or has one been done and it is just too early in the morning for me to see.

Meeting --- We SHOULD be there by 11am (my goal is 10:30 but we'll see how the family cooperates) so that we can meet up with everyone. Did I read correctly that there will be a secondary meet on the 3rd floor somewhere in case you missed the 1st one? It is going to be my parent's first cruise ever so once we get on ship...I will likely be tied up getting them settled, ect.

Hey everyone! Wow, this thread has really taken off in the past week

I haven't been on the boards too much lately, been busy planning DD's birthday party coming up and working...and of course shopping for the cruise!

I told DH today that I can't believe it is only 30 days till we cruise and that DD still doesn't know! Only 9 more days until we break the news. I made DH go out and get a video camera just to capture her reaction

I think we are going to pass on the fish extender thing. DH is already complaining about how much I am packing so I better leave well enough alone Plus, with all I have to do before we leave, I wouldn't be able to devote the time to it that I'd want to. However, it sound like a lot of fun I am sure everyone will have a great time doing them!

I'd love to try to catch up with the group the morning of the cruise in the terminal around 11, if that is still a plan. Our hope is to get there bright and early.

WOW! You really can't stay away from the PC for too long!! Pulling out the suitcases this weekend and starting to sort through the summer clothes - Still very cold in NJ today (and windy)

Sadly we don't get the DIY channel!! So no "dry dock" show for us
But checked out the Travel channel yesterday and it looks like from 3:00 in the afternoon 'till 7 - the focus is on ALL thinks Disney - Parks, Cruise, 'Disney on a Dime' - the works!!! What a great way to really work ourselves into a frenzy - like we needed any help!!
