April 11th 2009 Magic Eastern Easter cruise--UPDATED WITH ROLL CALL PG 1

Found this posted in another Thread: :cool1:

For those of you in the States that have the DIY Channel, set your DVRs for an episode of "Project Xtreme" on the DIY Channel. On Sunday, March 15 at 7:00 pm EDT, they will be re-airing the episode showing the dry dock process that the Magic went through in September 2008.

This was originally aired in January, so if you missed it then, you might want to catch this one. I found it quite interesting, and cool knowing I was on the first 7 day cruise after it returned to Florida!

We will definately be watching this - I had heard that there were lots of upgrades that weren't 'obvious' to guests but that would make the ship much faster and more comfortable.

Anyone know who our cruise director will be - Last year we had Brent Davies (LOVED HIM!) - but I'm hearing that it might be "Clayton"... ??? Any info out there? :confused3

We watched that program when it was on earlier in the year - very interesting! Especially because the place where they do the dry dock work is near where we live -- Norfolk, Virginia!

Princess Row - I am so sorry you don't have your room assignment yet! Keep checking and we will hope that it will show up soon! Maybe they are saving the best for last!!!!!!!!!!

Has everyone "signed in" on the roll call (first page of this thread)? If you private message kellimomo3 she will add you to the roll call. (Thanks, Kelli!) Would that be easier for the FE? Has everyone gotten their FE? I have been looking at them on ebay. Gradysmommy (she is a dis'er) has some really cute ones.

32 days to go..........

Anyone who booked GTY--do you have a cabin assignment yet?

Yes, my cabin assignment showed up on my reservation last Friday. When I called the week before, DCL told me I wouldn't get my cabin assignment until I checked in at the terminal. We were Cat. 12, so I was very surprised we got our cabin #'s. Good luck, I hope it shows up soon.

I went on ebay to look for FE and I found some nice ones but they were "buy now" items and were $30 each. I don't really want to spend that much and I am not good on the sewing front....has anyone seen them cheaper somewhere?

I also have a question for you experienced disney cruisers...Since this is my first time cruising with disney I want to be prepared....do I need to pack beach towels or are they provided (I am especially thinking about CC)

Home from work with strep throat today....would love to be on a warm beach with a cool drink in hand!!!

beach towels are provided so don't worry about that!

I am conflicted about the Ebay FE also. It's more than I want to pay, but I'm not sure I can make one myself!! And, by the time I buy all the supplies, it will be close to $30 anyway, I think.

Feel better!

I found a thread on the disboards under the Disney Cruise Forum that explained in detail how to make a no-sew FE. I thought about making one, but I like the ones on ebay and I love anything personalized. I will hang it in the laundry room or in DD 4 bedroom once we get home from the trip. I am sure I can find junk to put in it, even if it is just a few pairs of shoes. I can bring it with us everytime we travel, just for fun. That way I can justify the $30 I spent! Sounds reasonable, right?

Absolutely! ;)

Like I posted before I got our FE off of ebay but it wasn't under Fish Extender. I found in under hanging pocket organizer or something like that. Anyway I checked the seller I got mine from and she no longer has the Mickey one, but she does have a Disney Princess one if anyone is interested. I tried to post a link, but I guess I'm doing it wrong. Anyway the sellers name is :weddingsweet.

Our's worked really well and we will use it again this time. The total with shipping comes to about $8.00. It's not as cute as the personalized ones but it works and it's cheap.

I think your reason sounds perfectly valid. I will use that when my husband asks. I just went out on ebay and bought one. I went through the seller gradysmommy. She also does personalized pillow cases that you can have the characters sign.

OOOOHHHH, I'm getting soooo excited. The secret is getting hard to keep as we get closer.
