April 1 2010 cruise meet

I honestly just didn't think about it. It's Kevin and Holli with 6 year old Jake and 5 year old Chloe travelling. And just for clarification, they're our niece and nephew.

Thanks for the updated info! :thumbsup2 Your nephew and niece are lucky, lucky kids! :) :)

Sure have checked. Are you ready for this? (drumrolls) ta ta cabin # 8530 the ROY DISNEY SUITE!!!! I didn't really like the guy - but hey - luv this! Anyone wants to come and take a peek - feel free! Love to have you stop by.

Now my big dilemma is how to spend time in stateroom and indulge in all of the other ship offerings. Oh dear, oh dear - such decisions. I case you can't tell, I am a HAPPY CAMPER!!

I am shocked at the # of FE's who have signed up. Guess I had better get cracking! Never expected this in a million years! I think it must be DEB T. - she is soooo organized!

Congratulations on scoring a Cat 1 cabin on a Cat 2 waitlist! :woohoo: That is AWESOME! The Cat 1 will be perfect for your sailing group! We had a Cat 2 in '98 and a Cat 3 in '99 and enjoyed every second in them! Since then, DH and I have done Cat 6 for short cruises and Cat 4 for the longer cruises, and put our adult kids in Cat 12s. I might just take you up on your offer for a peek inside the Roy Disney suite! ;)

:banana:Congrats!!! That's a nice surprise!!! I wanted to book a suite when there were going to be 4 of us in the room, but we're only 3 now so I think the room will be fine. (Never been on a cruise before). I'd love to take a peek if you're showing the DISers the suite. (That would make DH sorry he told me to just get a room! :rotfl:)

For those participating in the FE, can you let me know how you made whatever it is you are hanging up on your fishy? We're still on the fence with this since we really have NO extra room in our carryons.;)

The combination of me being not very handy at sewing plus not having a lot of extra time on my hands has caused me to be rather "lazy" in my Fish Extender. I use a plain, white small canvas bag (like you can buy craft stores such as Michael's or AC Moore or JoAnne's Fabrics) for our FE. I outlined a Mickey head icon (from a Disney paint chip sample) onto the center of the bag with a black sharpie and then colored it in with a lime green highlighter. It's not fancy by any means, but it does work out well for all the surprises that are delivered!

I've seen all kinds of FEs. Two years ago, one family hooked plain paper gift bags to each other, decorated them with Disney stickers, and hung them from their FE. Being paper, they didn't hold up very well, so if you decide to do this I would recommend reinforcing the bottoms with clear packing tape.

You could use whatever your traveling with as your carry-on - a tote bag, a backpack, anything! My only other suggestion would be to secure it to the silver fish clip with a zip tie to keep it from "wandering" ala bored teenagers. ;)

I do hope you decide to participate! pirate:

Deb,

That really helps! After seeing all the beautiful, fancy, embroidered ones on the photo thread I was feeling like a little canvas bag just wouldn't cut it. I'll go check at Michael's and see what they've got. Sorry to be on the fence about this for so long! We're used to taking 1 carry-on each for 10 days in WDW, but this time with the cruise added I've been worried about extra dinner outfits and shoes taking up any spare room in our luggage.;)

Re: our baggage. As we are going to be gone for over a month, i thought we would have lots of bags. Have cut it down like u wouldn't believe! 1 Bathing suit, 1 pr. shorts, 2 capri's, 4 tee's, 1 skirt, 2 decent tops (dinner); shoes - i will wear a pair, pack a pair of sandals and my croc's - that is it! I know, not quite appropriate for the 'Roy' suite, but I think I will be forgiven!

I do hope folks stop by to share our room largesse! We plan to get to our room PROMPTLY at 1PM or is it 1:30PM so we can check it out! Please do stop by, I am a very outgoing individual (or so I have been told)..Anytime between then and the cruise meet or life boat drill would be fine. Not sure when else we will be there. Stop by anyway - anytime - the tour will be free!!

Originally we were to have 7 people - 5 adults and 2 kids, (which is why we needed at least a 2 BR) one (adult daughter) has canceled, but this will be great for the 6 of us! (really like the additional bathrooms! - especially with a 13 yr old!!)

We stayed in a 1BR once, but mostly in CAT 8's ( which I absolutely love!) It is funny, our first DCL cruise we had a balconey and also on the CAT 3, but we rarely used it so the CAT 8's filled the bill perfectly. But THIS time will be first class for sure! Hope you DISer's come and enjoy it with us!!

I will try to remember to put an 'open house' sign on the door!!

FE type. I also saw one of those pseudo-paper bags from the grocery store used. You know, the reusable bags that fold flat. This one was bright green too!

Wow! Congratulations!

I just checked on our 2nd cabin and it's still showing Cat. 12 GTY. I thought they would have assigned a stateroom by now. Hoping for a pixie dust upgrade!pixiedust:

I think there's another link you can click on - something like "reservation details" - that might have your cabin number... try that! :thumbsup2

Just checked that and it also says Guarantee status selected Category 12, but no stateroom number.

Hi All! I've finally located some recent 3-night Navigators! :cool1:

For you new cruisers, the Navigators list ALL of the activities on the ship each day, their times, and where they are located. You'll receive Thursday's Navigator in your cabin when you can enter at 1:30pm, or you can pick one up from Guest Services that day. From then on, you'll receive the next day's Navigator in your room at during the nightly turn-down service. :thumbsup2

Go to www castawayclub com (some links are blocked out on the DIS Boards, so insert dots and take out spaces) and scroll down to NAVIGATORS, then click on "Latest 3 Day Wonder". That will take you to the page where you can click on each day's Navigator! These Navigators are from the 1/28/10 cruise. Although everything is always "subject to change" with Disney, you can still get a good general idea of what will be offered onboard our cruise! Actually, when I compared the activities, times, and locations to my Spring Break '09 cruise notes, most were exactly the same! pirate:

Enjoy! And, as always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! :flower3:

One question regarding the FE gifts -- is it one gift/packet per cabin???

Deb -- we found those navigators last week, but they were really hard to read. DH printed them out, and they are still really hard to read!:sad2: Can't tell the times on things -- it's just fuzzy. I'll keep my eyes out for clearer copies and post here if I find any. I was very curious to see the new kids programming since they changed the kids clubs and they are no longer truly age-based.;)

Hi mmmears and welcome to our FE. Gifts can be anyway you want them - one per cabin, one per day, one per cruise. Anything goes. We experienced all of the above last year. Don't think I have ever seen so many for a 3 day! ?Great!

Happy Monday all! I just wanted to pop in and thank Deb T. for all of the informative and fun posts! I am so excited for this cruise - it is our first one on DCL! I keep getting lured away from what I should be doing during the day to think about Fish Extenders and what gifts we will give, what to pack, which cruise to plan next, etc. Disney fever has taken over. :)
