Apple Pay at Restaurants

Does anyone know how apple pay works at the restaurants? Has anyone had experience using it to pay for a TS meal?

1) In some non-Disney-owned eateries they accept it.
2) At most WDW restaurants, no.
3) Just charge it back to your room.

We used it in a store and CS with no issues but didn't try at a ts. My hubby was quite pleased with himself to be able to pay with his watch.
