Appetizers worth paying for

when I told my kids the dining plan no longer included an appetizer they asked if they could still get the fried cheese at 50's prime time... must have been good

2 soups for me - Cheddar Cheese at LeCellier and Baked Potato at WPC (that was the soup du jour, though, so only if they would happen to have it!)

I really enjoyed the Sticky Wings at Kona, not sure I would pay OOP for them though. With the bread, a filet with mashed pots, Kileau torte and a smoothie - well, I think that's plenty!! LOL!

The crab cakes from Kona Cafe.

We will probably get an appetizer from most places, but probably not at Raglan Road as last time I was so full I only managed a bite of my bread and butter pudding... sacrilege!!

Definately the Stcky Wings at Kona and the dips in Spoodles as well as the flat breads at Spoodles. Will definately be paying for all of those in August.

Sticky wings at Kona
Cheese soup at LeCellier
Lobster Bisque at Coral Reef
Fried Cheese at 50's PTC

this is good news!

3 of the top apps I want to try are the crabcake, the fried cheese, and kona's wings...good to know they have a following :)

Do not spend extra for the "Surf & Turf" Appetizer at Coral Reef. A true loser appetizers. Two shrimp and one piece of beef for something like $10.95. Oy!

Another vote for the Cheese Soup at Le Cellier

I also really like the Fried Cheese at 50's Prime Time Cafe and the Queso Dip at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

DH and I always orders crab cakes if they are on the menu. I also loved the Roasted Mushrooms @ Rose & Crown.

We had free dining on our last two trips. We did not get DDP for next trip. Looking at the menus I anticipate having a lot of appetizers as a main course. I figure I'll do fine with a salad, appetizer and dessert. Can't wait!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Appy's willing to pay for: Chili at SciFi, Buffalo Chicken Soup at Olivia's and the Lobster Bisque at Coral Reef. A couple others I like, not sure if I would pay for: Sticky Wings at Kona and Fried Cheese at LTT. :goodvibes

Was there in January w/ DDP and ordered ( & paid for, gladly):

Kona's Crab Cakes

Le Cellier's Beef Barley Soup (enough of the Cheese Soup, already!)

for us, we'll be paying OOP for the following:

crab cakes at capn jacks

crab cakes at LTT

lobster bisque at coral reef

crab cakes at narcoosees

cheddar cheese soup at le cellier

(yes - we like crab cakes - a lot.)

I second the recommendation for Heaven on Earth at Raglan Road - Guinness honey glazed ribs- they're delicious! I also recommend the Seared Sea Scallop with barbecued pork belly and yellow corn relish at Hollywood Brown Derby. I don't think I would have ever ordered it on my own just because of the description but a waiter once suggested I order it and now I can't go back without getting it each time.

We got a bowl of the cheddar cheese soup for dipping between 4 adults at Le Cellier. It worked out perfectly. Also, if you have finicky children, the cheese soup is an option on their menu so you can order it for them and eat it yourself.

We also shared a flat bread at California Grill. A bargain at $10 considering a glass of wine was $11.

Beer Cheese soup in Canada.......

Has anyone ever ordered this for carryout?

Lobster Bisque at Coral Seas

:yay: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:

:tigger:

Cheddar Cheese soup from the Le Cellier
Spinach Artichoke dip from the Sci-Fi
Potato and Leek soup from Rose and Crown

I'm considering this, LOL!! My DS would probably eat his, but DD won't - she'll just eat the bread. So we'll probably order it for her and I'll eat it.
