So, as I type this I am sitting in the bakery in The Magic Kingdom. In walks a bride and groom. I thought this was not allowed. It annoys me because I had to spend $1000 + to do a magic kingdom photoshoot and have the same privillages.

LOL ... I'd be tempted to follow them around (discreetly of course!) and see what happens! ;)

On our Dec PS trip in 08, we saw a bride and groom at the Christmas party. I went up and talked to the bride. She said they were married that day elsewhere and decided to celebrate after the reception by going to MK. She also said that they were let right in. They got a ride in one of the Main Street cars from the hub to the front at park closing with people making a big to do. I was just shocked that they were even allowed in. I did snap pics for proof as I just was in disbelief.

Maybe they changed in the bathroom and no one has caught them yet? :confused3

No, they didn't have any bags or anything that could have held a change of clothes.

He was in a tux, she was wearing a formal dress with no train, they had just married pins, and she had on the mickey bridal ears.

Oy. These sound like more examples of "random Disney rule enforcement". :sad2:

And I agree with your original feelings Keira ... they've got no business charging over a grand for the "privilege" of getting up at the crack of dawn and shooting around maintenance workers if they're going to let just anyone wearing a wedding dress in at anytime. :rolleyes1

I agree! For the beginning of our DP at Epcot we had to be ushered in through the back as per the rules. I asked my planner what would happen afterwards, and she never really told me. I had chosen to just take my own transportation home (I thought the monorail or bus would be fun all dressed up!), so nothing was officially arranged. I expected that the DP guide would escort me straight out of the park, but after the DP was over, nothing was expressed by any of the Epcot people. They told me to just go ahead on our own.

The park had EMH that night, so it was very busy! We walked out of the park, but took our time to enjoy the evening, and even shopped in the shops! I was in full wedding attire, including bouquet, and I kept expecting to get shooed out of the park, and especially the shops! But, no one said anything, and CMs even came up to congratulate us and ask us questions. It was a very fun experience, and I was certainly surprised to be able to have it!! No one ended up saying anything, and we stayed as long as we wanted! :confused3

I would love to walk around the parks in my wedding attire after our wedding, but my dress is huge and feels like it weighs 20 lbs.:scared1: So getting on a ride might be an issue, LOL! But I think I'm going to ask my consultant or planner about this later.

at EPCOT I was also allowed to wander in my dress, I was kind of scared though. You hear some CMs actually follow the bride into the bathroom and others just let you do whatever.

My wedding ends at 4:00...can I go to a Disney restaurant outside of the theme parks in my dress?

Yes. What we are talking about is actually going to a theme park in your wedding dress.

Different strokes for different folks....but I think it's super weird.

I can understand if you are going to a party (like a DP) or a restaurant, but I really don't get the appeal of walking around a theme park in a massive dress. Do people really stand in line for rides next to people in shorts and gyms shoes and think it's fun?

It's just really weird and tacky to me. I guess everyone just wants a shot in front of the castle...but the picture will be from a crappy camera and there will be people with fanny packs etc in the background...I don't get it :confused3

And yes Disney is deeply annoying with their unenforced rules.

You aren't allowed on a ride in your dress even if you buy it out.

I completely agree with you. Just by coming in to do the MK shoot in the morning, the bottom of my dress got wet and dirty. I can't imagine wearing it all day around the park, worrying about people stepping on it, running over it with strollers, and where the heck would I sit in it? On the curb waiting for a parade? I was perfectly happy in my shorts, t-shirt, wedding ears and Just Married buttons. We got more than enough attention. :thumbsup2

I have to stay i saw this couple too! We stopped and talked to them they said they got married at their resort and had lunch with their kids at the castel! But if i would have known this i would have walked in to get my pics done by the castle and left! Instead of spending 1000 bucks to get mine done and waking up at the crack of dawn to hear that they were "running late" it was amazing walking through Epoct with our tour guide to lower UK and having everyone cheer for you...my dress got dirty ne who so i wouldnt have cared it got any dirtier... Just makes me upset that it one of the "rules" and they did nothing about it....

You were much nicer than me. I glared at them for about 5 minutes debating trying to get a CM to do something about it. Also, you say resort? That doesn't even seem like they had a DFTW!

Being that we are hoping to have our reception at the contemporary {a short monorail ride to EPCOT or MK} I will need to test this out!!! It would be fantastic, but I don't have that kind of luck and I am almost certain that I will get the boot! But hey...it's worth a shot!:rotfl:
