So, from your personal experience when you visited in August, the crowds were about the same or less than on previous visits at the same time? Also, the wait times for secondary attractions was up, but headliners were down. Did you think you spent more time, less time, or about the same amount of time in lines as compared to previous visits?
This is obviously pure hyperbole at it's finest![]()
My experiences are not an exaggeration. They're just observations from my last trip in comparison to previous trips.
Exactly - and I put much more credibility into someone's actual experiences than I do someone's speculation.
Personally, I find it very helpful for trip planning. However f I didn't, I'd not bother to post I'd just move on to a different thread.People post stuff like this and I can think is "so what?"
Not going because you're upset about something isn't an attraction or a strategy.
We did not spend a lot of time in line because we typically do rope drop or go really late during extra magic hours. But we also did fewer attractions each day because of mid afternoon lines. We hate lines and avoid them at all costs. We still had a great time, but did less, attraction wise. We found the lines at the kiosks to make your fourth FP not too long, but very slow moving. So we never got a fourth FP.
As I've said, if I found no value, I wouldn't post. I'd move on.To me it just seems like posting on a website dedicated to a movie and saying "I don't like how it looks I'm not going to go see it." Who does that serve? It helps nothing.
I haven't read either article because, quite frankly, none of it really matters to me. No amount of data will have any impact on the real time experience. Way too many variables to really predict what will happen at any given moment. I can say that every posted wait time we experienced was very exaggerated. Posted times of 15 minutes were literally walk on in most cases (Figment, Journey Under the Sea). In most cases, the actual wait time was dependent on how quickly you could walk from the queue entrance to the seat. This was the case for almost everything at EPCOT, and many things at MK. Star Tours routinely had a wait time of 10-15 minutes, but was 5 or less in reality.
But you are constantly saying how much you like FP+, so really it's not like you had to make adjustments to a system that you didn't like!Your experience is much like ours. We've tried it twice now, worked very well both times. For us, it's a matter of making choices that work well within the system given to us rather than fighting it at every turn. I don't look for the most time consuming, worst way to tour known to man. We do rope drop, we ride late, we park hop- We stay on site to get a jump on reserving fp's and to make use of evening EMH. It works for us.
Back when they had legacy and park hopping wasn't working well, we adapted our touring styles. It's either that, or we're very unhappy guests. We'd rather go and adjust than go and come home complaining and unhappy.

I find it really easy to embrace change and adapt when I like something, it's entirely different when I don't like a particular change!
To the contrary- I've always said when it first came out I was kicking and screaming about it. It was only as time when on and I became comfortable with it, then used it that I began to like it.
I liked it after we tried it and made the adjustments necessary to maximize the benefits. Just like legacy, it doesn't create a trip for you. I don't know how anyone likes or dislikes anything without trying it first. Of course, if it's just the change you don't like, then it's a problem. I understand liking legacy and not wanting to lose it, but I don't see losing legacy as a reasonable reason for not liking fp+.[/QUOTE
I've tried FP+ and I don't like it. I have adapted my touring style to adapt to the change, but I still do not like FP+. I do not want to be controlled by scheduling or have my access limited by Disney.
Again, you like FP+ so please don't pretend that it was your ability to adapt to change that makes the difference in you experience.

I stay onsite because I like the convenience of it. The 60 day fp, 180+10, free parking are just perks.
.
I am pretty much blowing out this trip (doing the 60 day midnight/27 day 2:30 am BOG fp time/180+ 6 am ADR + hard ticket Frozen/MVMCP/Tomorrowland Terrace) because this may be the last time for a very long time, depending on how smoothly all the missed sleep and stress works out, and if I can deal with being forced into a pre-planned pocket.
Just as it's your MO to call anyone's post who disagrees with yours, "hyperbole".Lake Travis is not mocking you. He is mocking me and ridiculing my opinions as usual.
I am used to it because his MO has been clearly established.
