AP6 resort hotel rate is out

slg: I was told the same thing when I called to change my ressies. I went ahead and rebooked because it still saved about $30. The girl I talked to told me to keep calling back, because they get cancellations all the time and a better rate for the $300 night may come up. So I figure I'll keep calling. I'm looking at the FRiday before Memorial Day. So I figure that's why there are no ap6 rates left at this time. So I have the 22nd for $179 and the 23rd for $300.

I had a very similar problem in December slg! Here's a suggestion - Call back, ask for your nights at the special rate (AP6?) If they don't have all the nights, have them break it down night by night, and book whatever nights you can get. DON"T cancel your existing ressie, though! You can hold up to two ressies at one time with an AP! Then just keep calling back, trying to get the other nights you need at the rate you want. If you get them, try to have them added to the other ressie.

Then you don't lose your first ressie, but you can keep trying for better rates! That's what I did, and I didn't get the last night I needed until 1 hour before I would have had to cancel one of my ressies!! (the 72 hour cancellation policy).:) But it did work! It's just alot of work for you to keep calling back. I have a great phone plan... :) Hopefully that makes sense. Let me know if I need to clarify my ramblings...

Yipee! I notice you are a fellow western Canuck! i have a great phone plan too , but just not loads of time.

I'm a little confused by what you mean by adding days to your res. The cm told me that if I changed a res at all, everything would have to be cancelled and start all over again.

So take me through that step by step.

1. Tell the cm what I am trying to do, and book the days I want at the cheaper rate.

2. Keep my first res.

3. Keep calling back to see if the rates go down on the remaining two days and if they do, add them to my second res.

4. If I can't get the better rates, cancel the second res 72 hours before deadline.

How would better rates come available? That's the question that's confusing me.

Better rates/rooms can become available if there are cancellations and/or if the hotel doesn't book as many rooms as they believe they are going to. I'm sure there might be other factors as well, but those are two that I know of.

I just booked the DLH resort/pool view at $214/night for May 18-22! It was great to be able to save this much!

Yup! You've got it! The only other step is that if they won't add your extra nights to your SECOND ressie, you'll have to start a third. This will work, because you can have up to 2 ressies for each night you want. Hopefully by the end, if it works, they would combine them all into one ressie for you. That's what they did for me.

The big thing is NOT to cancel your first one, (which I know you already got) just in case the second doesn't turn out. And, a couple of other people explained how they come available. It seems that because people cancel as the date comes closer, the chances go up that your nights would become available as your time approaches. Also, if you already have your AP, you can check online for the best available rate for your nights. This saves time phoning. (Sign in, go to Annual Pass area, then Check Calendar Availability). I found one of my needed nights through the online calendar, but II found my last night by phone only. It didn't show up online until later.

Hopefully this helps, and didn't confuse you more! Please feel free to ask for clarification if you need to!

I would suggest calling rather than relying on the on-line calendar--for the dates I wanted it was showing $260 per night--but when I called the rate for a standard view room was only $179 per night! I don't think the AP6 rates are on the calendar--just the normal 10% off rate.

I got the $169/night rate at PP for April 21st and 22nd. My friends (non-AP holders in different rooms) are paying $240/night!

I've only ever stayed at the Annabella, so I am really excited to stay at a Disney hotel!

I was able to get May 22 & 23rd for $179 a night. The 23rd is the Friday before Memorial Day, so I was really surprized I got it at that price!!
