I always tell my students to verify the source is credible by checking other credible sources.

I quoted it. It was the title that was changed (which cannot be quoted). It said "Explosion at the White House."

No, the first post was also changed. It originally said (something like)...

"Heard an explosion at the White House".

Which made me think that the OP was near the White House and had heard an explosion.

I can't really fault the OP. How were they to know that the Associated Press had been hacked? It's a pretty darn credible source.
