AP shopping/dining discount confusion

My mom just recently renewed her AP online. Since all she has now is a MB not a plastic annual pass how can she get a discount when shopping/dining? I have a discount card for mine but they are no longer issuing those. TIA

She can come to any ticket window with her MagicBand and her ID and we'll issue her a plastic card.

I had to ask for mine when I activated my AP in December.

Please please please do this. It saves a lot of time and aggravation. And is the only official way to get your discount.

Having said that...don't forget to link your annual pass to your My Disney Experience account. If you're not given a physical card we sometimes resort to your account on your phone to see that you have an annual pass along with photo ID. I encourage Guests to screenshot the screen that shows their pass with their name to really expedite the process for the Cast Member. MANY CAST MEMBERS ARE NOT OFFICIALLY TRAINED IN THIS METHOD AND MAY REFUSE THE DISCOUNT WITHOUT A PHYSICAL CARD. I can only vouch for a few stores in the Magic Kingdom and the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. As I said at the beginning it is much easier and guaranteed to work 100% of the time if you have the physical card with your name written on it and a photo ID.
