AP Room Discount w/o Voucher at Check-In

Is this possible or will they want to see at least a voucher at check-in? In other words, check-in and then go to the park to upgrade one ticket to an AP? Then go back and show evidence of the AP? Seems like the best way to hedge bets (buy tickets before price increase) and nothing to lose because if there's no AP discount available I just don't buy an AP.

But almost seems too good to be true.

Thanks.

Technically, APs are supposed to be shown at check in, but usually you are given 24 hours to show it. You should have no problem getting your AP after check in and then returning with it later on. With that said, make sure you remember to go back and show it, otherwise you could lose the discount. Some have reported they have never even been asked for it, but if it were me, I'd go back with it just to make sure I didn't lose the room discount.

I booked an AP rate and was never asked to show my card or voucher. Check-in was a bit crazy that day, so that may have been just a fluke.

We also didn't get a welcome packet or anything, so who knows.

No welcome packet? Now that doesn't sound very magical!

In May 2012 we bought undercover tourist tickets and then upgraded them inside HS before check in because I was worried if we checked in first to the Polynesian without the APs we wouldn't get the AP discount. At check in they didn't ask to even see the AP. We took 3 more trips with those APs that year staying at Poly again, GF and Pop Century with AP discounts and were never asked to show them. No idea if it's always like that, but that was our experience.

I've never not been asked to show my AP and I had been given the 24 hour time frame to collect the AP.
