AP renewal, FP+ question

Hi all! I am renewing our AP for our upcoming trip. Since my current AP is only valid through part of our trip, does this mean I have to wait to schedule FP+? Or will it work with the voucher confirmation number? I have not renewed yet, as DH does not have an AP, we are waiting for his ticket to arrive before we start scheduling FP+. Thanks for any and all help! :goodvibes

I am interested to hear anyone's experience/thoughts on this too. I will experience the same thing in July.

I think the Will Call Confirmation Number will work to start booking FPs.

It seems the AP Vouchers are a bit tougher.

This is just what I have gathered from reading here.

I just got back. I had my AP voucher ahead of time and the rest of the family was going to purchase the APs at the park. I could not make any FP reservations until everyone in our group had tickets or vouchers. According to the CM I spoke to on the phone, I could have made them with voucher numbers alone but since everyone else was without them, we couldn't.

But, have no fear. We booked our FP+ either the night before or morning of each foray into the park and there was only one time that whole week where we could not get a FP+ for a desired ride.
 
In december I could not make w/ voucher number. Tried phone tech support but they could not make it happen either. YMMV.

We were unable to add our AP vouchers to My Disney Experience online. My mother called and they added them over the phone. We still have 60 days until it's time to make our FP+ reservations, but hopefully it shouldn't be a problem now.
 
Our APs expired recently, and I am going to get new ones rather than renew. Member Services told me that I would get a confirmation or will call number that could be linked to the Magic Bands so that I can book FP + times. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how that works.
 
I was able to add my voucher without any problems in December without calling. Worked like a charm. :-)
