AP rates w/in 60 day window?

I tried to find this info in the archives, but after a couple hours, gave up.

We were on the road (6 mos) when the BRP came out, so I'm pretty clueless. I've had AP on and off for years, mostly for the discounts before renting DVC was common. My last one is now expired, and don't know if I should replace it for our Feb-March trip.

Now that there's the BPR, can AP holders still get regular AP discounts within the 60 day window? Our window closes on Jan 1, and I'm not sure I want to commit just yet (plus, we have to pay in full for our rented DVC points this week - a lot of $$s to lay out at once, if you add the AP and one night ressie.) Are we stuck paying rack rates even with an AP if we book after Jan 1?

TIA

Sorry, only BRP for AP holders. Some folks were hoping for general codes for January and they have not materialized either.

BRP rates are not available less than 60 days out from your stay.

I realized I can't get BRP, but what I'm confused about is whether BRP and AP are now one and the same all the time.

Yes, BRP rates have replaced what we have known in the past as AP rates.

Well, I think you can still get AP rates by telephone--because on the website Disney just announced Value resorts from Jan 16 - Feb 4th at a very low rate. And that annoucement certainly wasn't there 60 days ago! The thing is, you need to call between the hours of 2 and 5 p.m. EST. These are special AP rates.

I thought there might be some work around for those APer who don't use the internet (yes, hard to believe, but there are a few out there ;)).

And then they direct you to the BRP booking area which won't let you book because it's less than 60 days. Disney really needs to get their computer issues taken care of.

We already have a vacation planned (to Texas - blah) in late January, but might be able to talk hubby into WDW for a few days before hand if the rate is good enough????? I don't mind buying an AP since we will be going to WDW in Sept 2006 anyway. Thanks!

If anyone finds a way to get AP rates within the 60 day window PLEASE post it here! We decided this week to head to WDW for a quick w/end trip at the end of January. And even though we are AP holders we can't get the rate :confused3 b/c it is less than 60 days out.

So if there is any way to get this rate I'd LOVE to know :).

Thanks!

I just spoke with CRO and it appears that what everyone has been saying is true. There is no way, at this time, to get the AP rate within the 60 day window. I am going to email a complaint as per their suggestion to the following address:

wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

That's the only option, which of course won't help me but maybe if enough of us do it they will change this silly policy :earboy2: .

The rate for values is showing now on the website for $49 a night. I don't know how you can book this 60 days out since it just showed up on the website and it's for the dates Jan 16--Feb 4! For anyone interested, please call between 2 and 5 p.m. and ask to speak to a manager.

That's what I didn't get with the website. It has the message for the January 16th discount, says click here, and then doesn't let you book it because it's less than 60 days. :rotfl: Disney needs a new webmaster.

So was anyone successfule getting the rate of $49.00? I'm going to call today as ask about it. I would love that rate for January 31-Feb 4!

I called yesterday and they said that the $49 rate was only good if you had already booked the resort 60 days in advance?! :confused3 I told them it wasn't worded very well on the passholder website, but she just blew me off and said I couldn't apply the rate since I only booked 30 days out. I then said that shouldn't the rate have been applied automatically to those with BRP reservations, thus no need to advertise it. But they didn't really have an answer for that. I really think that the whole BRP thing is really in test phase and clearly all the kinks have not been worked out. My total gut feeling on this is that when and if they make it official, maybe they'll take into account the complaints and possibly allow booking BRP ressies within 30 days. I guess I'm an optimist! But as for yesterday, they weren't budging and I wasn't in the mood to argue LOL!

If anybody was successful....PLEASE let us know here and how you managed to get them to apply it.

I sent a email to disney complaining about the Jan $49 rate also. I was told by a CM when I called to book that it had been on the website since October. Now I know it was not there in Oct. I tried to book it when I saw it.

OK i sent my complaint who else? I dont know why I am unable to book a room if there is still rooms available at the $49 rate. :confused3 It is still on the website if it isnt available then they should remove it. when It is no longer a valid booking option.

I totally agree with that! Their site stinks! I haven't been able to log on to the AP site since they changed their log on page several weeks ago. Many emails to Disney have done no good. I can't even log on to check the rates. Their web site is one of the worst I have ever visited.

:(
