And when I tried to book online none of the Standard room rates came up for the few I tried. Who knows, I guess we have to call to get them or it's some type of come on. I received the email a few hours ago about the rates and buying an AP for Chrirstmas presents.

I got it directly from the Disney site. I didn't check any dates, because I can't go back THAT soon after spending 9 days there in December. I don't know when we will go back before my birthday in June, but we might.

Same here...no rooms available in the values for my dates...boo...

I received the email just today as well.

I tried many different types of resorts and NO standard rooms were even on the list. It's almost like it's a wasted promo. Every time I tried I got that stupid question as to why I didn't book and I wrote the truth that no Standard rooms were available for any type of resort or any time frame and that it's just wasting my time. I never had a problem like this one.

:cheer2: :cheer2: Just got off the phone and booked my next trip Jan. 23 to Feb. 8. :woohoo: The best AP rates in a long time. Will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside.:cheer2:

I was on AP site and just about to book a room-only reservation, but wanted to make sure that booking online I'd have the same 5-day-in-advance total-refund cancellation policy.

So I clicked on "Terms and Conditions," which says:

Cancellation Policy

Standard Room Only Offers - In order to receive a full refund of your deposit, notification of cancellation must be received at least 5 days prior to your arrival date. To cancel or modify an existing reservation, call (407) 939-7429†.
Discounted Offers - In order to receive a full refund of your deposit, notification of cancellation must be received at least 45 days prior to your arrival date. To cancel or modify an existing reservation, call (407) 939-7429†.

Now I'm confused! :confused3

Is the offer I'm booking considered a "standard room only offer" or a "discounted offer"? Nowhere on the page with my booking information does it call the dates I booked by any specific name.

So I didn't book the room. I can't afford to book it with the 45-days-in-advance cancellation policy right now, since we're not 100% sure we can go.

Also, I noticed that it says "to receive a full refund..." Does that mean that you can receive a partial refund if you cancel after the 45-day or 5-day period's up?

Thanks a million for any help you can give.

Of course it's too late now to call CRO, or I'd do it!

I guess I'll be waiting until tomorrow morning.

We are going over MLK weekend so weren't able to get a value resort rate, but for $30 more (total) we upgraded to POFQ.

As long as you call on the 45 or 5 day mark, you get a full refund. If you purchased travel insurance on a package you will forfeit that.

This is the first I have seen on the 45 day cancellations without it being a package.

I had a discounted room booked for Aug 30 thru Sept 1 of this year and called on the last possible day (5 days prior an hour before closing) and got a full refund within 2 days.

If you cancel after the 5 day mark, you lose a one night deposit.

I think what the poster is talking about is that if you make ANY room only reservation over the phone the cancellation policy is 5 days. If you make an online reservation with a discount then they have the 45 day cancellation policy even though it is room only and not a package. The only way around that is to call on the phone and then the DISCOUNTED room only reservation is the 5 days. It's odd but true about this policy. I had one room only reservation over the phone with an AP discount and it was a 5 day cancellation policy, I booked an online AP discount room only reservation and that was 45 days!! I don't know why the difference. but it is also noted on Mousesavers.com that this is true. All packages regardless of where you book are 45 days without penalty for change or cancellation. If you change to increase the cost, and we have, no $50 fee though in our experience.

Last night when this offer came out I tried many resorts and none even had the standard room as one of the choices, I wrote that comment on each question as to why I didn't book. This morning the STANDARD rooms are available on the few I have checked. I guess WDW fixed the glitch.

Thank you so much for clarifying this. I thought this was what the Terms and Conditions statement meant, but I wasn't sure. At any rate, I didn't book online. I'm going to call today instead.

I'm glad I read the Terms and Conditions statement instead of just assuming the policy was what I'd always experienced in the past when I booked over the phone, but it would be nice if they'd display this information in a more obvious place.

You're welcome! Hope you get the room you want and can go.

Awesome AP discounts! Fingers crossed for a good year with deep discounts. I wish disney would pull a surprise and discount Easter break as well......

They did it with Christmas and I think that Christmas is usually more of a busy time than Easter.

What a surprise! The AP rate this year was cheaper than the same dates last year!

I had POFQ standard Feb 5-13 (8 nights) AAA rate $1072.00 ($134.11 per night). I called last night with the AP code and the new total is $801.00 ($100.13 per night). Total savings $271.00! Yay:banana:

They didn't discount MLK weekend :(

Hi everyone,

I've enjoyed all your posts.

I booked our rooms this evening on the phone. I think I got Disney reservations right before they close (8:27 pm) and I didn't have to wait on the line at all. Very nice.

disneyfan55, you were 100% correct: If you book the AP rates over the phone, the no-penalty 6-days-in-advance cancellation policy is in effect, which is what I wanted, since we need to leave things a bit open right now.

We got a fabulous rate: $149/night ($167. 63 with taxes) for a pool-view room at AKL in late January, after MLK Day. This is comparable with AP discounts from 2 or 3 years ago. Really good. Thank you, Mickey!

BTW, many room categories at AKL have great AP rates for the end of January. I thought maybe only some rooms were being discounted, since I was originally looking for marathon weekend--which inconveniently coincides with our anniversary--and there were only a couple of room categories available at AP discounts then, and none of these room categories was right for us.

But as soon as we decided to try later in the month, voila!, all the categories showed up. So if you can be flexible with your dates, give it a try.

Thanks again to everyone.

I was surprised to get the discount rate for a Friday and Saturday night, most of the offers I've gotten recently (FL res. and AP) have been for Sun. night through Thurs. night. I was happy!!
