If I purchase our AP's online, does our membership begin same day, or on the first day of use in the parks? For example if purchased today would our AP's be valid 9-5-14 to 9-5-15, or if we wait until our trip 9-25-14 to 0-25-15? Hopefully that makes sense…. thanks! :)

First day of use at the park is when it is activated. So it would be 9-25 :thumbsup2

One more for you guys- Does anyone know if you are allowed to use Early entry when you have an AP? Or is that excluded?

You might consider purchasing a 3- or 4-day park hopper with a Magic Morning included. Then some time on the day you use the Magic Morning, upgrade your ticket to an Annual Pass. So at least on the first visit to DLR you get early entry once. The full value of the ticket applies to the upgrade cost of the AP. The downside is that you don't get AP shopping and dining discounts until you upgrade. And if you are planning on using the SoCal resident option for a monthly payment plan, it might not be as good of a deal. Also, the expiration of an AP upgraded from a ticket is a year from the first day the original ticket was used, not the day of the upgrade. Still, if early entry is important for that one chance, this is a way to enjoy that benefit.

Thanks for that idea! We've done EE many times before, so for us it isn't a big deal- I just wasn't sure if AP's got that benefit or not- its been about 5 years since we've had APs :)

Wait, so if we upgrade a PH to an AP at the gate, we can't do the monthly payments?

Since I'm not eligible, I can't say for sure. At the very least, it might not be as good of a deal because you would be out at least the amount of the Park Hopper ticket up front. That amount alone is a significant amount toward the overall AP. So it would diminish the advantage of monthly payments if they do happen to allow it.

Yes, if you live in California.

What they will do is apply the value of your ticket towards the price of your AP, this will be your down payment.. They will then take the remaining balance and divide it into 12 payments.

So for example:

You have a 3 Day Park Hopper valued at $265.00 and you want to upgrade to a Premium AP valued at $699.00. Your Monthly Payment will come out to $36.17 per month for 12 months.

Thank you. We are in CA & that's what I thought :)
