So I just purchased a SW AP for my husband. (We want one for our party for our trip, for parking and discounts.) AFTER I pressed "purchase" I read this: Valid for one year from date of purchase. We're not even going for more than 4 months! Is the AP going to expire next March??? With Disney it's not "active" until you actually enter a park (or it was the last time we had an AP). Is this not the case with SW?

Answering my own question--but posting to share the information in case it helps anyone else!

I called SW because I was a bit freaked out...Sierra gave me great service.

Yes, it is active from the date of purchase. But she was able to cancel it for me, seeing as I just bought it. Oh, phew.

"But" I said plaintively, "I wanted it to book our dinner with Shamu to get the AP discount."

"Oh, I can book that for you with the discount if you want to do that now, seeing as I know you are planning to get the AP."

Bless you Sierra!

So we have dinner booked for our trip in August. What a great deal, dinner for 4 for $111! And I'll order the AP closer to our visit, in case we take that "in-the-twelvemonth follow up vacation". :teeth:

i am confused. your trip is in 4 months so the AP would be active at that time. Are you planning another trip that would be out of the one yr mark. Why cancel the tickets?:confused3

Ha! I can do that to people. (Confuse them. ;) ) We are not planning another trip, but with this and the Universal AP we bought, I may be able to get my dh to speed up the timeline "because it's a good deal". So having it run out in March wouldn't be helpful.
