Are AP room discounts any better than Disney Visa discounts?

We have both and I've found the annual pass discount to be better. They are typically more last minute but we usually get 35-40% off deludes

Disney Visa doesn't get an exclusive discount - they SOMETIMES just get early access to public discounts that you could get without one.

Agree with the above poster. There is no special Disney Visa discount. It's the same that's announced to the general public but it usually opens up 5-7 days before it opens up to the general public so you have first dibs. Disney Visa does sometimes have specials on events or merchandise. I think right now they have a special discount for the Dale Earnhardt racing experience that I don't think it open to the general public. And with the Disney Visa you get 15% off of any Disney tours you book at the parks.

AP discount is usually around 5% better than the GP discount. As others have mentioned the Disney Visa often gets you access to the General Public Discount early. We book via the Disney Visa discount (ie the GP discount but early thanks to the visa) and then when the AP discount comes out we apply that to the room (so we've got the room booked at a discount just in case the AP discount doesn't apply or doesn't have availability for our dates/ room)

Exactly how we do it too- I'm currently not so patiently waiting for the next round of discounts for our early June trip- only the first 3 days fall under the current AP discount.
