AP Lending?

To cut thru all the legal garble, I think it can be said that Disney would not evey press charges. They may in an extremem situation revoke your pass. More likely they would just not let you in the park without ID more often than not.

yes it's possible. I have had the problem with the biometrics thing all the time. However, I would never let someone else use my pass. I had a CM actually ask me for my ID when I couldn't get in

Count me in as one of those who has been asked for ID when the biometrics haven't worked. I personally, would not lend my pass to someone, its to valuable to me. If I did lend out my pass and the person got caught according to the literature I would loose my pass.

I will also say that any time I had trouble with the biometrics, the CM at the entrance was able to reset the biometerics right then after checking my ID. There has never been a need to go to guest relations.

Now that I am thinking about it, even though my girls don't have to use the biometrics as they are 7 and 9 many times the CM will ask them for their first name to verify.

I believe it is a flawed system.

There have been many times where my wife and I have gone and acccidentally used each others pass and still got in. Remember it is only a measurement, not a scan.

I have used my AP on 3 different trips, numerous days, and more often than not the bio-metrics does not work. I mean, I don't get the greenlight to go through until the CM just lets me through. I have never been asked for ID and have never been asked my name. It's happened in July and in October, at Park Opening and in the middle of the day when DH & I are the only ones going through. I wouldn't ever let anyone use my AP and that really wasn't the best thing to do. But I can see where people might be able to get away with it.

Amen MarkC!

I cannot stand when the unofficialselfappointeddisneypolice force gets on a roll. Should people do it? no. leave it at that. hard time in the state pen is just silly.

DH has horrible exzema and it causes swelling and does all sorts of nasty things to his hands. His pass never seems to work right and they have never asked for an id when he has had to had it rescanned. Now would I take a chance and let someone use our passes.....NOT!

Well....I now know why I should never disagree with a lawyer...you really do know your "stuff"!!!

I have never bought an AP, but as we just purchased into DVC, we are thinking about it. I had never even heard of "biometric" scans, but after reading, all I can think is how swollen my hands get when I am pg...that thing would NEVER work for me if I went down after I get pregnant!! LOL!!!:p

I can believe it. My mom and I both have APs. Because of her arthritic fingers her AP never works. I mean NEVER. On each and every time she was never asked for ID. NEVER. Lucky for her too as she never carries ID in the parks.

My husband and I both have AP passes, I use mine about 4-5 times a year......but he only comes with me 2 times....and his biometrics never work........ each and every time they ask for his ID.........and we have found that if the CM just passes him through without doing something right, he can't use it get fastpasses all day..........

Now that is weird. As I said my mom is never asked for ID. The CMs always wave her through. Yet we get fasspasses all the time with no problems. Maybe there is something wrong overall with the AP that causes the problem your husband experiences?

skiwee 1, I wonder the same thing! I, too have arthritis, RA, and that is why my AP doesn't work right for admission probably, but we, DH & I, always get FP's, at least a couple of times per day. Seems like there may be a problem with the pass altogether.

It depends on how the CM overrides the turnstyle. If the turnstyle dosen't recognize the pass and validate it as admission for that park on that day it won't work in the FP machine.

So if the CM get the turnstyle to recognize the pass, you can get the FP. If the CM has to override the system and let you through without validating the pass you won't be able to use it for FP. This happened to me at MK and I had to go back and have it corrected.

No CMs can ever get my mom's AP to work ever. He then hands her AP back to her, pushes a button and lets her go through. So does that mean he overrode the system or he validated it somehow? Sounds like he overrode it to me. They do try to get my mom to move her two fingers this way and that but it never works. So they just push a button and this is done without her fingers in the little scanner. That being said we get fasspasses every day in WDW during our trip and have never had a problem. Since we go to WDW 25-30 days a year and have had APs for 3 years we have gone through this same scenerio over and over. Never asked for ID and never had a problem getting a fasspass either.

and my ID was checked only once. I was in an ECV and never had to use the biometrics thing and my ID was never checked but once......so I beleive this could happen, but agree it should not happen!!!

The fastpass issue is odd, because it sounds like some CM's aren't using the right code to let the ticket through. Usually if there's problems with the biometrics, all they have to do (assuming the ticket has just been scanned) is press two buttons (a combination of two letters on the CM keypad on the turnstiles), and the pass is recorded in the system as being used to enter the park (it's not an issue of the pass not being recognized; it's just a matter of whether the system has it logged in as being an actual entry in the pakr or not).
