AP holders from NY, NJ, Conn

Please let us know the results of your call, as I am in New York, but not in the counties pictured on the map.
I just got off the phone with the FL COVID hotline. I was told to keep an eye on the website as things will be changing in regard to the states with travel restrictions. This was after I pleaded my case about the vague “tristate” confusion in the EO. She was super nice and said your state is doing good and may not even be on there when the changes take place. 😁 So let’s wait and see!! She said they have gotten lots of calls.

This is the best post I've seen in awhile. It only makes sense to start looking at states statistics. It sounds like people need to keep calling to put the pressure on. What number did you call?

Thank you for this information, that is good news, and could potentially eliminate one barrier I have to going as scheduled on 7/20. The other is the case numbers, it's going to be hard to justify leaving a state with 57 new cases to go to one that's probably going to go back over 10,000 and maybe even higher in the next week or so.

I feel like I have been jumping hoop After hoop for this September trip.🤣

I am supposed to go in 12 days!!! After the closure, cancellations, resort closures, dining cancellations, etc. we finally have our trip exactly as we want it. We got every park every day we wanted on the park reservation system, we got every dining reservation we wanted back, we got a value studio at AKL a month in advance, which if you know DVC, this is nearly impossible to get even at 11 months, 2 studios at BCV for 5 nights, a 2BR lake view at BLT for 5 nights...everything has fallen in place perfectly! To see that all get crushed in the final 2 weeks before our trip is going to be devastating but every day it seems more and more likely I am going to have to make alternate plans. Good luck everyone, we're all gonna need it!

Call the phone number and plead your states statistics and the tri-state area issue. Hopefully the more that call the more pressure to make changes. It can't hurt.

I am going to wait a week or two to see what the response is for the AP for those coming from NY/NJ/CT I think they should extend the length of the pass until we are able to travel down there again when the executive order is no longer in place. I do not want a refund I just want the extension

This is where I'm at too. I have a trip booked literally right before the new deadline (and I don't think that was coincidence given it's Labor Day weekend). I didn't want a refund because I've already passed the "break even" point for my pass from 2019, and I intended on using it when I felt it might be safer to do so and want to renew it because I have 2 trips booked for next year. I don't think it's unreasonable to have some kind of accommodation here especially given the not insignificant number of out of state AP holders affected by this. Give us options, at least. Disney doesn't have to but it would be the right thing to do imo.

I also first mentioned that the tristate wording in the EO should be the legal restriction, which actually does not include all parts of the states If you look it up.
Even the counties in the "tri-state" are a bit ridiculous. I live in Somerset County in NJ and we've only had 5k cases total since March, but we're in the part of the "no go zone"despite making up less than 2% of all cases in NJ.

I'm in Fairfield County, CT, which over 16k cases since March, but most of those cases are the I-95 corridor...my town has had about 250 cases in 4 months.

Well, when I look at the 3 counties in CT, I live in one, own a house in another, and work in the third. So, yeah, it's pretty much got me covered anyway I look at it! Still, our positivity rate is under 1%, and is one of the few states that saw a decline from last week.

I've been researching alternate trips in the NE region for a while now and we were looking at Lake Placid and the Adirondack region in NY and the Poconos in PA (we ended up booking in the Poconos since it's a little closer to us). We have friends who are going to ME and some family members going to Vermont. I've, personally, appreciated the way the NE states have handled the travel restrictions. VT, in particular, went to a county rate of infection weeks ago and updated their data every week to determine who could come in without quarantining (people from counties whose rate of infection was the same or lower than VT's). It was a real-time, realistic way of trying to keep their community spread down with tourists coming in while still welcoming some out-of-state tourism. It just seemed to make sense as it was based on actual data. I'm not getting why FL still doesn't want us there but people in current hotspots can come in. Maybe they just don't want a huge influx of tourists right now?

Thanks! I floated a local-ish vacation to DH yesterday, and he's not interested. I figured we could go to VT or ME, rent an AirBNB, bring the bikes and the dog, etc. He just doesn't see other NE spots as significantly different from where we are to constitute a "real" vacation. To his point we're in a fairly rural area of CT, and we have been taking hikes, walks, and bike rides for months now. Actually, it's about the only form of amusement we've had, as CT did not close parks during the stay at home orders, so we've been exploring various parks, preserves, and land trusts since March. DH wants someplace that "looks" different from home.

Now we're considering Seattle/Olympic National Park or Hawaii for August. We had our honeymoon in the pacific northwest, and I've been wanting to get back someday with the kids, and flights out are super cheap at the moment. Can't cross the boarder to Vancouver or Vancouver Island, but there's so much in the Olympic peninsula. Hawaii is also high on my list of places to go, and tourism is opening back up, but it's a long trip out with kids, and we'd have to fly through Phoenix, Dallas, or LA, which are all hotspots, and I'm not sure if that would subject us to quarantine on our arrival home.

I think I'm just going to call it now for Orlando in August, and start looking at places with no quarantine going or coming. I still have my Disney trip booked for November, and I'll cross my fingers that everything looks better by then. Luckily, I was able to book just before Disney stopped accepting 2020 reservations, so I'm going to back away from obsessing over the summer, and try to be thankful for what I have. Well, I'm going to try anyway - a Disney addiction is a hard thing to break!

Not the spot to be debating whether your county should or shouldn’t be included in the EO, just how it pertains to your travel and your AP in particular.

Sooo just got off the phone with Disney regarding seeing if our annual passes could be extended again due to the renewed quarantine restrictions and my cast member did say that while there is nothing new *at this moment* she did hear that Disney is working on getting *other options* together for passholders affected by the quarantine restrictions, including talk of a second pass extension. She doesn't know when these other options would be announced though, and that until they are announced the only two options are refund or whatever extension you got in the first place . While talking about the other options she did use the phrase "pausing your annual pass", so hopefully we will be taken care of 🤞

I just got off the phone and received the same information! They told me to hang tight and call back in about a month, that new options will be rolling out. Hopefully they listened to the members who wrote about freezing annual passes!

A month?? When they have started paying out the partial refunds already? Would be nice if we had all our options before we have to make a decision. Getting so aggravated with this whole thing.

So if you read the orders and then look at a tri state map, technically or legally it should be only theses counties. I am calling too. The New York tristate area is specific. Not sure how the whole states are included according to the EO wording.

Wondering where you found this map. I’d love to see if for myself...as I’m in in South Jersey I’m Atlantic County which is not highlighted on the map in your post!

I’m sorry, I know how you feel. It was an emotional day for me. Hopefully we’ll get answers soon.

I am interested as well. I'm Burlington Co. Also not highlighted on the map.
