Finally!! September is a go. Florida has 35 days to get it together so I don't have to quarantine here

Just a heads up for those concerned about returning to NY after FL travel. There *are* some exemptions to the 14 day quarantine mandate. If you think you might be considered an "essential worker" it would be worth it to Google and find out if you fall into the "exempt" group. This isn't a "loophole". It's written into Coumo's mandate. But it might help eliminate some stress for some following this thread.
I just sent this to Disney via email... I’m sure it won’t help but it made me feel better to send it.
Now that the FL governor has extended the state of emergency and the 14 day quarantine requirement for NY/NJ/CT residents for another 60 days, what are Disney’s plans for Annual Passholders from these states? It is nearly impossible for many of us from these states to travel to FL because we will not be able to quarantine for 14 days before we enter Disney property for various reasons (ex. it is financially impossible to pay for a hotel to quarantine in for 14 days in addition to what we are already paying for the length of our vacation, we do not have enough vacation time to cover the quarantine in addition to our planned vacation, etc.).
The situation is no fault of your Annual Passholders or Disney, of course... but the circumstances do not allow a contingent of your most loyal customers to take full advantage of the benefits of their costly Annual Passes. It most certainly would be a sign of goodwill and an example of excellent service that we have come to know and love if Disney develops some sort of accommodation for Annual Passholders that are impacted by this quarantine... perhaps the choice of an additional extension of our AP’s that covers the length of time that the parks are open while the quarantine mandate is in place, or a refund for the same time period.
We are your most loyal customers... please consider reciprocating that loyalty to us with some reasonable options to accommodate this unprecedented situation.
The testing option depends on where you're going. If you're from MA, you can substitute a negative test for quarantine. If you live in CT, the state requires the 14-day quarantine, regardless of test results. How strictly CT or your workplace/school enforces it is another matter, but there's no testing loophole at this time.Anyone flown into BDL lately? Just wondering how they're handling it? I know you have the option to take a test to shorten quarantine which is nice to see.
A previous poster gave the link to John Hopkins sight tracking the virus-according to that sight (If I'm reading it correctly) Florida has been a little over 12% positive for the 7 day rolling period. But then I bring up California, and California has been below 10% for quite awhile-why wouldn't Calif. come off the list? Again, it's very possible I'm not reading it correctly.

Yeah, we're mid-November, and I'm not sure at all. DH laughs at me for thinking it might happen "when the numbers are under control" because he thinks with flu season, travel will be even worse then. It's just so hard. After we cancelled FL this Aug, we planned Seattle for that week, but switched elsewhere when WA went on the list. Then by the time we were leaving, WA was back to being a green state, and we could have gone after all. I'm just going to hold onto my park and hotel reservations as long as I can. I realize that might mean paying higher fares for our plane tickets, but so be it. I'd rather that than deal with getting and using airline credit before it expires.Florida is still at .17 UGH, not sure about our mid-Oct trip at this point.
Now I just went on the website, it's showing Florida at .09. So if they keep it at that or under, they can come off in 7 days?
