Ap, free dining and magic band question

I haven't been to Disney in over a year so I'm trying to get familiar with the new magic bands.

We have a trip planned with free dining in Dec but I was thinking about sneaking a trip in before then and upgrade to an ap. Now in the past when I did this I would have to take my ap into the park along with my room key for the dining credits and would keep the room key with my two day tickets on them for later use. Now if we upgrade to an ap we use our magic band for admission but would they be able to add the dining credits to the ap magic band or would I have to have them both for the Dec trip? Also how would I keep the days admissions that we are not using?

Your dining package will be put on your account which is what your MB links to (nothing is "on" the MB itself other than the ID number). You won't need anything other than your MB for the ddp - you choose a 4 digit PIN for security either online during pre check in or at check in. They will provide you with an AP membership card which you will usually need to get the AP discount an purchases and occasionally you will be asked for a photo ID along with it. I always bring my AP ticket card and DVC card anyway just in case.

My understanding is you can keep the package tickets you are not using and use them after your AP has expired or apply them to a future AP/AP renewal.

I think you would want to inactivate the 2 day tickets so the system doesn't use them in error. Once AP expires activate the tickets again

How do you deactivate the 2-day tickets?? I have a similar situation coming up and don't want to accidentally use the 2-day tickets while my AP is still valid.

Okay so it would all be linked and then my account number would show two day entitlements. How would I save them though? I know I still have two day tickets from three years ago that I haven't had cause to use yet but they are the room keys.

Sorry I am technologically challenged so not to seem dense. Is it just the tickets would show up on my Disney experience so next time I plan a trip and want to use them I would just use the id number?

You can set a priority on the tickets on My Disney Experience, which will set the order in which tickets are to be used. You would (should) also be able to link the old (on room key) tickets you have if you so wished.

You can go to guest services outside the park (before you enter) and have them pull your two day tickets off MDE and put them on separate hard tickets which you can relink to MDE when you are ready to use them.

You can also get them prioritized, but I prefer to take it a step further....just in case.
