AP/FP+ Last minute trip

It looks like a last minute trip for the spring may be in the works for us. We weren't planning on going until December and we were going to stay off site so I'll admit I haven't read too much on FP+ as I assumed we would just be out of luck when it comes to FPs. Well since we are still going in December we are going to get APs. The problem is we have some non-expired tickets that we were going to upgrade towards the cost of our APs. We are going to be staying on-site for this last minute spring trip (about 2-3 months out, waiting on DH to comfirm dates with work) and will want to take advantage of FP+ and magic bands. If we don't buy the APs until we get down there, then does that mean we will not be able to book FP+ reservations ahead of time? Would we be able to book FP+ reservations ahead of time if we buy the AP voucher online before the trip? What is the best thing to do in this situation? TIA!

Tickets can only be upgraded 14 days from first use. Even if they are non-expiring. So you will not be able to upgrade those tickets and put the cost toward AP.

You can purchase AP online and link the Will Call to MDE. Then pick up your physical cards and show ID at any Guest Relations.

The tickets I have are 1 day park hopper tickets that were never used. I don't know if they can be upgraded towards the cost of the AP or not.

If they have never been used you can upgrade them. You can link them to your room reservation and select FP+ for the length of the ticket then once you get done there and upgrade to AP and link that you'll be able to make selections for the rest of your stay...and then any 7 days up to 60 days out since you have an AP

Yes. I misunderstood your post. If the tickets are unused you can upgrade them to AP. As PP suggested link those tickets to your MDE account and it will allow you to book for at least one day.

Please though when you link the ticket write down the name on the back of who you linked it too!! This will make the upgrade process much easier as on the screen we can only see a string of numbers to indicate what magicband the ticket is linked too. Not a name. So this way you won't end up with Joes AP on Mary's MB.
