Lots of people have mentioned good weekend rates with AP codes. We have no experience with AP's but are considering them for next year with the DVC discount. For the night before the Members Cruise, we made ressies at POR for a rate of $149.42 including tax. When people mention AP discounts, are you saying that sometimes you can get a room like this for less? If so, about how much less?

Or are the AP discounts exclusively for DVC rooms? Or more expensive hotels on site?

If you can give me some info, please do. Thanks.

Thank you, I didn't realize that the rates were given right in the newsletter!

We LOVE having AP's as the ability to "come and go" in the parks is wonderful. That said, the real benefit is that the room discounts can really help stretch the DVC points. I never seem to have enough points, and as we just moved to a new house -- with a lovely new mortgage -- I will not be adding on in the near future. The "cash nights" really help make our vacations special.

When we go in March, we have 6 nights in a 2-bedroom at the Lodge, for a whopping 275 points. As we like to stay 8 nights at spring break, we are adding 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) at Carribean Beach, where the kids will get to try out a new pool. The CB room was $114 per night, a real deal considering it's a premium season. In July we'll have 6 nights in a BCV studio -- paid for with the points I saved by doing two nights at the Carribean Beach! On that trip I will add on two or three nights somewhere special -- maybe the AKL. July is "value season" at the Deluxes, and with an AP discount, a few nights at ALK will come in well under $500. For our family, the AP rates have been a blessing. :cheer2:
