AP and DDP

I spoke to a CM today and knowing half their info isn't accurate I thought I would ask here. He said that I would be able to add the DDP up to 5 days before our trip even if the room booked was an AP discounted room. It is true that I can get a room with an AP rate (if available) and add the DDP and still keep the discount. If true, that would be great. Any confirmation? Thanks!

Yes, you should be able to keep your discount. You just can't "stack" discounts, i.e., get an AP-rate room AND free dining.

They started allowing DDP with AP discounted room (no park ticket purchase required) when they offered the latest round of AP discounts. This makes your reservation a package not a room only. The discount codes were different for room only AP vs DDP/AP vs DeluxeDDP/AP. I don't think you can just add DDP to your AP room only. There would need to be availability with the DDP/AP discount code.

So now I am confused with the last post. I was told that all I had to do was call up no later then 5 days before my trip and add the DDP. I was also told that I was going to have to pay in full for the room at that time as it then became a package. So as long as I have an AP rate room then adding the DDP was allowable. Is that what you are telling me lovesdumbo? Sorry, but I haven't had my second cup of diet pepsi yet this am and am a little slow! LOL!

Yes you can now book AP discounted package with DDP without a ticket!

I have 6 nights booked at Pop for myself and DD(5) with DDP 5/4 to 5/10 so regular season for $803 total (with tax but I didn't buy insurance). I had to pay the "package" $200 deposit and had to pay the package balance at 45 days out.


If you want DDP I wouldn't wait til 5 days out.

Not a reply, but an additional question. I have an AP, my kids don't. Any idea if we can add the dining if only the person who makes the reservations and pays the bill has the AP?

You can book outside the promotional time (thru 5/21?) but you'll be paying rack rate for the room. I currently have a reserveration for 8/8-8/10 for an AP room with deluxe dining package (no tickets). The price includes rack rate for the room and the normal price for the DxDDP. I'm hoping in June when AP discounts come out I'll be able to get a discount on the room.

Yes but you only book one room with an AP now so if you need more than one room you need an adult with an AP on each room.

Thanks everyone! I do have a room booked for Sept-Oct. Of course it is not an AP room yet but just wanted to be ready in case I can get a discount on it. We are getting the DDP with the room whether I can get a discount or not. Right now I just have the AAA rate. If no AP rates come out then I will just get the MYW tickets added too. Either way we are staying at the Poly. Thanks again for all the info!
