Anything too scary for 8 yo's?

My boys will be turning 8 while we are at WDW. I'd like to know if there was anything that bothered your kids at this age.

FYI: The last time we went they were 4.5 yo. They loved HM. They live for Star Wars, so they loved that. They wanted to do Dinosaur, but the end scared them. We skipped ITTBAB and HISTK. We also skipped Test Track because the were scared by the noise. (We weren't even close to it.) Actually, we skipped a lot because I was worried they weren't ready for it. So, is there anything you'd recommend that I'd skip now? I'm not really talking about the roller coasters. They'll be able to see those and know whether they want to try it. I'm looking more for things like the 3-D shows, The Great Movie Ride, etc... Things that you don't know will be scary or not.

Thanks!

Test Track is not scarry. All the noise is the cars doing the loops outside. Tell them it isn't any worse than riding in the car on the expressway going 60mph.

My dds will be 10 the day we arrive, 3/27. They did TOT when they were 6 and one of them still won't do it again, neither will their dad, but our youngest dd loves it.

You can't see RNR but it's great if they like roller coasters. It does go extremely fast and upside down. My 64 year old dad rode it in March and loved it.

Great Movie ride has a few "scarry" elements. My 3 have been riding it since they were quite small, so they're used to it now. Although they still don't like the scene from Alien, or the "bones" in Raiders.

All three love Space Mountain, although it is all in the dark. Two of the three like Dino, the third "tolerates" it.

That's about all I can think of right now, hope it helped!

Depending on your DS, a lot of things could be scary for him. You can not see the roller coaster elements of SM or R &R. Both are a little intense for a non coaster pros. Things that I have seen really scare kids are dinosaur at AK and T of T at MGM. My DS handled both pretty well at 8 but many do not. I think that ITTBAB and HISTA are both still a little intense for some 8 year olds. If loud noises bother him, a lot of the shows such as Indiana might be a toss up. At 8 my DS was game for everything except for alien that is not running right now. I would start slow and work your way up. Good luck.
