Oooh, if you go, definitely tell us all about it. I'd love to go check it out, and my in-laws live in Moorpark which is near Simi so we could drive out and stay with them.........if we had a vehicle that would make the trip from Vegas to CA. Darn.


I've never been to MM during Halloween. Did they do haunted houses and mazes and such?

MM has haunted houses, shows, chainsasw juggler, backwards coasters in the dark. They also have a couple areas that are so fogged in you can barely see. It's full of monsters chasing poeple. I used to take my son and his friend and I would just sit on a bench and watch the mayhem. A few times I'd notice a monster sitting next to me taking a little break.

That sounds great. I had heard about the roller coasters going backwards. I didn't know about the other things.
I can only imagine you sitting there chillin on the bench when some zombie plops down next to you and starts rubbing his tired feet!

I love this! Those bats are great! Did you make those? Or are they store bought? How did you attach them?

I cut the bats out of Black card stock (you could use hard felt) then I just used duck tape rolled up in the center! Fingers crossed for no bad weather...

First of all, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who lives in L.A. and hadn't heard of the Haunted Hayride (VintageDisneyRules hadn't heard of it either!). It's not publicized - I have never seen a billboard or heard of it before this year.

Second - I used to go to Hallmark stores a lot years ago. Not so much for the ornaments, although they have wonderful ornaments every year, but for the cute holiday stuff like their lapel pins. They would come out with the cutest lapel pins for any holiday you can think of.

During Fall, the Hallmark Stores would have the "Boo Bazaar," and they sold impossibly cute Halloween merchandise. I haven't been to a Hallmark Store in years. Does anyone know if they still have the Boo Bazaar?

LOL Those are always fun. In Michigan, you'd see many displays like that. The "guys" mooning, and sometimes they'd have a "girl" who was flashing.

I haven't been yet! I need to do that soon.
I do remember all the cute Halloween items they usually have.
I am always torn between a cutesy Halloween and a scary one. We usually do cutesy inside and scary outside. Last year we had a kid cry when he came to our house. LOL Not that I am happy about a kid crying, but I guess that's a sign of a good, scary Halloween display.

I found a site called Halloween forum. Sort of like the DIS but for Halloween. It's pretty neat. I haven't looked all around it yet, but I did find a section devoted to Halloween t.v. schedules.

I've already got several Travel channel shows set to record.
They list Disney shows too, and certain episodes of old shows like Married, With Children and Roseanne that are Halloween themed. Pretty handy to have and it appears to be updated weekly.

I've got pictures. Unfortuantly I dropped the ball when in came to taking pictures of the food from the halloween rolleyes1 But I did take some of the cake and my indoor/outdoor decor. I'll take more tonight with the lights on and the heads on fire.

This is called a spooky buddy, I found him at walmart many years ago, he's sound activated and teeders back and fourth while taking in a childs voice. He says boo, happy halloween, and giggles.

The Halloween signatures I "think" are done by Funball. I'm not sure where she finds them or if she does them herself.
