Anyone with recent DW to Dreams add ons?

We went to the Doorway to Dreams event last night and what they were offering was like the perfect storm for us. We were going to book a Disney Cruise during the period that is available and were talking to TAs about booking it prior to them starting this promo, we were looking at getting tix to Mary Poppins as a gift for someone shortly, AND we've been talking for the longest time of trying to do a different vacation location for a week sometime next year. So factored in, this brought the purchase price of BLT after the first year into the best deal for us other than our first contract 10 years ago with the BWV.

Here is the shocking part to me. I've bashed Disney's IT dept before and I'm not sure what exactly is going on, but I gave them a check last night at 8:30, when I logged in at 11, my new contracts were online with the points.

This surprised me for two reasons. First, it's shocking they did this so fast. When I think Disney's DVC website, I think of the Comcast turtle commercials. Second, I never signed a thing last night. They took down some information, but I didn't sign a single Mickey head or date a single palm tree. They were going to allow me to book my RCI week even though that is WAY ahead of things right now.

If I call MS today, would I be able to use these points or do I have to wait to close? They say the usual Null deal, but it said that for my AKV contract for a while after I was booking there.

Question....How did the RCI exchange thing work? Were they equipped to help you book on the spot? Do they assure availability before you purchase? I ask only b/c I'd be afraid you wouldn't get popular timeframes (like when kids are out of school) at the better properties.

That's cool. I'm sure I'll get a fedex package next week. I just figured I'd have to wait till after I closed because I could take a reservation away from someone else and still back out of the deal. I honestly had no intention of buying at BLT when they first announced it (same for AKV) but I have really liked the room layouts better than the older resorts. I hope they close this DWTD place. It's a 1/2 hour from my house and I'll be up to 5000 points and need a second job if they keep building places I have no intention of adding on at.

We didn't actually talk to RCI, but our guide (who happened to be one of the three on the stage) told me that I could book it last night. We took our two kids with us and my wife was kinda tied up with them at the dance party/characters while I was doing the paperwork so I wasn't going to commit to anything without her. I wasn't born yesterday.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. We'd never trade our points out even though they're pushing it, but we are so open to places we'd like to see in the US that I'm not to concerned with finding a trip next year.

And if you have a BLT trip in mind, I WOULD call today, because tomorrow BLT booking opens to non-members, and it will probably be a zoo.
