If you like historical fiction, try Kate Morton. Her novels take place in the present day with a mystery from the past (usually Edwardian to WWII Britain) influencing the modern day characters. I've read them all (there's only five); The Distant Hours is my favorite, but all are worth reading.
I also liked Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. I didn't care for Gone, Girl (but liked the movie). She wrote another but the title is escaping me. It's good too.
