Yeah, it seemed choppy to me too. I think they whole Chris Noth thing threw them for a loop. At first I thought they knew the story was going to come out so they killed him off, but it seems maybe they didn't know? It seems they filmed with him after the death. Now, I think they are glad they killed him off even though they have to cut some of the scenes. Otherwise I don't know what they would do, not show the series?
I watched
The Equalizer last weekend. It was their first episode back after the Chris Noth bomb dropped. He was instrumental in the episode. There was no way to cut his part out. I had wondered if they would do some fancy editing or have Queen Latifah just talking to him on the phone and we only see her part. But, we needed to see what his character was doing. Also, I think the production was on their holiday break, and Omicron has taken over the NYC, so I doubt they would re-shoot right now, even if they wanted to.
A little FYI: There is a reboot of the original
Law & Order series coming back. It will star Anthony Anderson and Sam Waterston who was in it just before that series had been cancelled. Although Chris Noth was one of the original cast members, I think it's safe to say we won't be seeing him in it.
I just don’t like, he might be guilty. Or not. But people can come forward and say whatever and guilty or not, his life is over.
Yes, this is the part I never liked about these types of allegations. We've moved from a society who used to stand by "Innocent until
proven guilty," to just making any and all allegations in the media, especially social media, and if it gets a lot of traction, then it must be true, even if/when it's not. There's an old quote attributed to Mark Twain, “A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth puts on its shoes.”
I get that the victims' identities in these situations are protected as it's such a shameful situation. But, I feel until it is proven that an alleged perp did it, their identities shouldn't be revealed either. Yet, in these situations, the perps
relied on there being no witnesses and no way to prove what they did, so they could keep harassing or raping. That's how they got away with having multiple victims, in silence and isolation.
Yet, I also wonder if there's not a "pile on" happening to some of the alleged perps. Especially as the only "evidence" one needs nowadays is to just publicly say it happened and add themselves to a growing list.
This is such a hard situation to thread the needle through to do right by all.
