Arg! I am NOT one of those animal-rights people by ANY MEANS, but I cannot believe what I'm seeing right now. Some goofball has some poor cats trained to do things that a cat would not normally do!!! He has one of them sitting on a rocking horse and then he pushes it and when it goes back, the poor cat hangs on for dear life! Then he has another cat "dancing" on its back legs with him! Good grief. :sad2:

Edited to add: What's up with Gelman? WHO in their right mind, in this day and age, would book an act like that?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? :confused3

I agree with you 100%, it seems that was part of some Russian circus act. I had to turn off the tv. I bet the ASPCA will be all over them for that horrible show.

It looked like a lame act from the old children's show Bozo Circus. They could have interviewed a pedestrian off the street and it would have been more interesting than that. Perhaps it was someone's relative wanting national TV exposure??

One reason I don't go to the circus or many zoo's anymore. I like to see animals on the nature channel doing what they do best....be animals :)

We like Animal Kingdom okay, but still I've seen the cages/buildings during the train ride and so it still makes me feel bad for them :(

I saw the show and can't tell you how :furious: it made me. I think it was a natural instinct for those cats to hang on the pole because they were hanging on for dear life !!! It looked like the cat was going to fall backwards off the horse. Hearing the crowd gasp......sure wasn't cool in my book. I wonder if Gelman even saw him perform before he booked him or he was doing a favor for a friend?

Does it make you feel better to know that some animals live longer in captivity?

I've seen it before. I thought it was kind of funny, especially the cat on the rocking horse!
