Anyone watching How to be a Size Zero Tonight

i think the programme would have been inspring rather than off putting to young girls

I missed it so don't know how it came over, but I do wonder whether such programmes act as an instruction manual on how to do things rather than detering people

I agree, I think the programme with the journalist on BBC3 the night before was much better made. The doctor on it explained how the journalist was depleting her supply of white blood cells and laying herself wide open to serious illness and long term health issues on such a limited diet ~ not just coughs and colds but things like TB and pneumonia.

I personallt thing the programme will get quite a few complaints from parents of teenage girls.

As an adult you could somehow see what she was "trying" to put accross but I think so many young girls will just have focused on the fact that she ate 800 cals a day and exercised her butt off and achieved getting to size 0.

I would have thought more of the prgramme if

a) They chose a normal sized presenter - 14/16

b) She packed it in when the doctor advised her to - not carried on.
Those young girls watching will think "Hey if louise can do it when the Dr says no - so can I"

c) The interview with the young girls with an eating disorder was moving but not in depth enough. I personally thought it - I want to say glamorized the clinic but that's a bit strong -but it didn't really show any heart felt comments or distress coming from the girls. Not one of them said "I wish I'd never started dieting!"

She should have also interviewed the girls parents to show the distress and worry put on the them too.

d) I thought the interview at the Clothes show where she asked girls if they'd be interested in modelling if they lost some weight and got to size 0. They all said yes but they never stopped them adn explained it was just a Tv show. She added "I wish I could have told them it was an experiment" but hey no - they all left thinking "ooh I was spotted and if I get to size 0 I could be in with a chance" How irresponsible is that?

I could go on - but I for one would not have let my girls watch it.

Sorry - rant over!

I agree Nat it was an instruction manual.

and Jen, how true - yes she's lost that weight but was a right skinny minnie to begin with.

I remember reading something about Myleene Klass when she was in the jungle, it was going on about how fabulous her figure was, which was right, she did look really stunning but said that not long ago 'she allowed herself to balloon to a size 14'

I'm sorry, but 'allowed herself?'
and in whos book is a size 14 a 'balloon'
that always peed me off about the Bridget Jones moviestoo, they showed Bridget battling against becoming 9 stone, I'm sorry but if she was battling against 14 stone, we'd have felt a wee bit more sorry for her.

I watched it, but I was really disappointed. I actually thought she should have not tried the dress on and then we never would have known if it had fitted her or not. Now people know that in 30 days, even if you are already slim, you can drop 2 dress sizes.
I actually thought she would have struggled a bit with dropping the weight cause everyone knows that the smaller you are the harder it is to lose the weight. The work out she was doing was crazy. I do 30 min on the elliptical every morning, 100 sit ups and a 40 min walk and it is so boring, I absolutely hate it, but I do it as I want to lose weight, for my health and my wedding;)
It would have been much better for them to explain the health problems, I felt they only just touched on that.

I just can't understand how she 'stuck to it'!!!

It was like watching a broom handle slim down to a toothpick!
