Anyone watch the Apprentice? Repeats Saturday night on NBC

:rotfl: Lori

I agree!

Who was that annoying woman saying "This is RICH...boy, this is so RICH..." about that tacky apartment? Bleh.

I found this quite amusing myself! She definitely is beautiful though.

I was not impressed by the apartment either...

Did anyone else question why it was necessary to split the "cast" into men vs. women? It seemed to me to sort of cheapen the whole premise of the show.

I didn't plan to watch it, but it was on after Friends, so I just left that channel on.

I ended up really liking the show. I think it's a good premise and if I was a betting woman (which I am, but that's another story) I would put my money on Omarosa, the political consultant from DC. She seems to have a nice mixture of book smarts and commen sense. It's just the first episode, so we'll see what develops.

:D I hadn't heard that this show was even going to be on but ended up watching since it was after Friends. I thought it was interesting. I'm really getting sick of all the "romance" reality shows and this one seems different.

I really liked Omara (I think that's her name). She is a top candidate in my eyes. I also liked Troy. Think Tammy and Sam need to go  .

It is MHO that the apprentice that tells Donald to get rid of the comb over should WIN!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: So true!!

I watched it, and ended up really enjoying it too... I thought it was interesting. When they had the lemonade competition, the women came off *so* bad at the start comparred to the men, I thought they actually were more likely to end up winning by the end, because reality tv shows tend to want you to think one thing's going to happen and then have the exact opposite result. Pretty impressive that the men were able to score so much free stuff though... even a cart! I'll be watching next week... :)

I caught the very end of this and loved it. At first I was surprized about David being let go. However, once he started opening his mouth in the cab, talking all about his IQ and such I was glad to see him leave. IQ does not always = common sense or business sense.

This should get very interesting. Good business sense often includes street smarts, boldness, compromise, innovation, luck, PR skills, the right advertizing, flexibility and so much more.

I liked the show too. I think the girls and guys sold about the same amount of lemonade in the end. It was just that the gilrs sold it at $5 a glass and the guys sold it at $1 a glass. I didn't like Sam...however, I think he has the gambling instinct that Donald has. He almost did sell that lemonade for $1000...my DH was sitting next to me yelling at the TV to offer it for $500...but alas..Sam didnt hear him. LOL! See, I think if he had sold it..he would have been praised and not been one of the three in the board room.

I am not a fan of the Boise guy. I dont think he has the UMPH to make it...at least..not in NYC.

Good show...we're going to keep watching.

This is the only show DH was dying to see! And he tivo'd it!:p Dh is quite a salesman and thought Sam was a genius! He knew women could sell more because sex sells, and tried to a recruit a woman to sell it for him! And he really looked like he was going to sell it for $1000 to that one guy!

I didn't like Oramosa (whatever her name was). I thought she looked very stuck up, but then when she suggested "Donald's Darlings"?? Nope, don't like her.

I have no idea who will win and haven't picked a favorite either, but it will be fun to watch!

I happened to stumble upon this show flicking channels last night..I thought it was great!

I actually liked the girl Kristi..while the women were fighting and trying to make a decision, it was her and the other lady who went to get the supplies that had it together. They sat down where they were and started to sell and didn't worry about where the others were...they let the group find them and they kept selling.

I didn't like Sam at first either, but when I started to think about it, I think he actually had some great ideas. Just think if the guy would have bought the lemonade for the $1,000..what would everyone said then? What did it hurt to try? The only thing I didn't like about him was when he kept standing up while in the boardroom...that to me was odd, but when Trump told him to sit, I think he won't be doing that anymore.

Yes, very obvious for the women who will be the first to go. And I agree that from the previews for next week that the way Trump said "You are Fired"....much more gently than with David.

This show is going to be interesting!

I watched the show and really enjoyed it.. There was a time when I thought that Sam was going to start crying.
With all the reality shows starting up it will help to pass the time this winter.

Is it real?

I've seen early photos of him, and it looks more "normal" looking. Now it looks like a big comb forward w/ some fluffing and and hair-coloring. It somewhat disturbing to me.

I liked the show, Sam was a little over the top for me and kissing bottom at the end. But I guess, a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do.

Bad as I hate to say it Sam had alot of the qualities our top sales guys had back in NY, but NOT the qualities of a leader.

Note the two people Donald has as his left and right hands, both are decidedly laid back but very tough. I think those are the qualities he's going to look for in his "apprentice".

Yes, this show has the qualities of a Survivor, DESPITE the Donald.

I guess the ladies HAD to say they liked that apartment. I can't believe they liked that New York version of Graceland!!

And that woman who asked about CLEANING the house???? I don't even assume that my FRIENDS are cleaning their own homes anymore, much less the KEPT woman of a billionaire!! Man!!

And the BEST QUOTE OF THE DAY GOES TO LORI:

It is MHO that the apprentice that tells Donald to get rid of the comb over should WIN

CLASSIC!

The women had to roll up their shirts to sell more lemon aid, and flirt with guys on the street! Oh please, they were also fighting so much I didn't think that they would ever get started.

The men seemed pretty strange too.

I've heard that they all are supposed to have IQ's close to 200. I find this hard to believe!

A few things that caught my attention--

--the men's project manager (guy from Boise) got to choose the top two men he felt were not pulling their weight. I thought that was interesting. I am very non-confrontational person and would have had a hard time doing this. I know if I (the project manager) was not fired, I would have to go back to the suite and talk to the other person that was not fired again. Maybe the women will have a harder time with this??

--The previews of the next episode show Donald looking at the center (chair) person saying "you're fired." At least in yesterday's episode, the center chair was always occupied by the project manager. So my thought is that the next person to be fired will be that episode's project manager . Although, I am not sure if the men or women are going to win next week??

Just my thoughts!

My Beau and I watched it last night and loved it. I don't watch those reality shows typically (except for American Idol) but I was real interested in this one.....(being that I am currently in the job hunt). I think it's funny how everyone remembers Sam's name and virtually no one elses......he really made some impressions. tee hee.

I think Sam has much potential.....he just needs to control his nerves I think. I also couldn't believe the one girl who went off to have lunch while the other girls stood and worked. She really cut herself off in the beginning.......and my dad always said "it doesn't cost you anything to be nice".......and it's true. I think she needs to be nicer just to be nicer.....then she wouldn't be so paranoid cuz no one would have anything bad to say about her.

I think the one girl who was a real estate tycoon (I think) showed potential and I never heard her say anything bad about anyone behind their backs. I figured the girls would win that because sex sells. However, we shall see what happens with the next task. I hope it's something they can't use their bodies to help them win........I would like to see a battle of wits.

I didn't like David.......he was way too cocky and had virtually no people skills......he really bugged me.......I was not sad to see him go.....he is the one I voted to go.

Just some of my thoughts......Glad to see so many others watched it and have such great opinions and observations.

Have A Disney Day!!!!!!princess:

We only watched the first 30 minutes, but I was sure that the MD/MBA guy wouldn't make it very far. While that much "school" certainly shows a lot of dedication, it doesn't necessarily indicate a "get up and go/entrepeneurial" attitude.

but missed the part where they said who won.....did they say how much each group made? We are hooked........ :D

Thanks so much for the info......

the girls won......they made i think $1600 and the guys only made like $500..........they then kicked off that David guy who had the MD/MBA
