Anyone watch Commander-in-chief?

I liked it and will watch it again but I was a little disappointed at how much I had to suspend disbelief to get into it. I just had a tough time believing the attitude of everyone about her resignation. I don't know, it just seems like it's not the place of anyone to tell the vice president to resign... their sole constitutional purpose is to take the place of the president if the president can't fulfill their duties. I just had a hard time with the whole "oh you were just a publicity stunt, we didn't mean for you to ACTUALLY be vice president" thing. I also had a problem with the idea that it would be unethical for her to take the place of the president because her beliefs are not the exact same as his. The whole thing was just not very convincing.

I had the same thought. He must have been a pretty bad leader if he nominate a vice president who he didn't think could to do the job.

I'll watch it again, but won't get too invested. I don't think it has staying power.

I waited all summer for this and wasn't disappointed. I am a huge Geena Davis fan and can't think of a better person to play this role. I'm not much of a tv watcher but now we have two shows on one night, CiC following Gilmore Girls -- hope we don't get addicted :rotfl2:

I really enjoyed the show overall. There were sometimes were it was flat but I like the dynamics of the mom having to juggle the family and a country's well being. I actually laughed when they were asking the VP to step down because I was thinking about if Dick Cheney ever had to take the helm. Everyone would be saying the same thing ;)

Anyone watch episode 2? It's growing on me, actually, and I'm not sure why. I actually laughed out loud when the little sister had the diary.

I really like the premise of the show, but I too was disappointed by the first show. I guess I was comparing it to the West Wing. I thought the writing was bad and the acting wasn't too far behind. I didn't watch it last night, but I was planning to. I hope I tivoed it, but I'm not sure.

Life in our household came to a standstill as Dh and I were glued to the tv for it. I love this show.

I like the show as well. I agree with some posters that writing in the first episode was a little weak. I saw a improvement with #2, and I think it will get better.

This is the only show that I think my husband and I will enjoy together. My one problem is that it seems a bit jumpy. But, that may be the way they want it to be. I do think Ms. Davis needs to loosen her clenched jaw a bit when she speaks. I found a neat website for the show for anyone interested.

Same here! This is probably the only show my DW and I will watch together.

I love this show! I DVR it so I can watch the Amazing Race. It's nice being able to fast forward through the commercials.

Finally watched last night's show. It was much better than the the first one. So, they've hooked me for another week at least. I still wouldn't go so far as to say that I love it yet. Although, I think I'm going to like that the President doesn't take any crap especially from the speaker of the house.

I watched a little of it last night, since House wasn't on. If it was on at another time, I'd be watching, but I much prefer House.

Really? I had no problems imagining Dan Quayle being told to resign if history had been different.

I am so bummed. My recorder didn't record it. It is on Monday nights correct? Or Tuesday nights? Either way I missed it and my poor hubby is bummed. We enjoyed the first one a lot.

WOW. Geena Davis was fantastic, but I thought the whole hospital scene was a little off, from the room to the president being able to talk so well after a major stroke.

Of the few shows I watch I will be tuning into this one next week.

What did you guys think?

I haven't seen it, but my family watched it, and had really been looking forward to it, but were really dissapointed, and say they won't be watching it again.
