I have no idea where to post this....I posted on the budget board, but not many replies....I am debating between shipping a package of snacks, laundry det., etc to the resort, or using wegoshop. My question is, with wegoshop, do you have to meet them at the resort? Or can they leave your package with the front desk? I won't be ordering anything that needs refrigeration so that is not a consideration. I cannot take an extra suitcase of these items.....too many people going with too few suitcases. Anyone know about wegoshop?

Thanks!!

I don't know about wegoshop, but there have been posts about people shipping things to the resorts ahead of time. You might do a search on this tip board. I think I read about this yesterday.

Thanks, I have searched this subject, and unfortunately, people are really divided. Seems I am actually going to have to make a decision without someone on the DIS boards telling me what to do!! :earseek: I have planned my trip thus far based on these boards!! :upsidedow Oh well, this seems to be a heavily debated subject but I think I am leaning slightly toward wegoshop.......or maybe shipping ahead.......arrrgggg!! :drinking:

Stephanie,
I am going through the same debate in my head. My main reason for leaning toward Wegoshop is my families tendency to drink lots of bottled water. Since we are a group of 7 this trip, I'm sure it would cost a small fortune to ship that much water. Lugging a suitcase full would be way to much work to fool with through the airport.

I have never used them as we usually drive ut I beleive that zurgswife has mentioned that she has. You might want to PM her and ask.

I have used WEGO shop twice the last time in February 2005. They are great they bring everything right to your room and that means I don't have to lug it around. I usally order milk, quick breakfast items, a few snacks, water, soda, & beer. Their delivery fee is well worth the savings in buying items at the parks or gift shops and well worth not lugging stuff through the airport.

We used wegoshop on our last trip and loved it!!!

You can schedule the delivery for whenever you want---but I don't know if they will leave it at the front desk or not.

We paid upon delivery to our room.

I am sure you could email Becca at wegoshop.com and she will tell you.

Maybe try renting an el cheapo car one day while @ WDW (they have one onsite) and make a quick grocery run.

I bet you would make up the difference in the cost of the car by going yourself.

I don't know about wegoshop but instead of bottled water try the Brita filtered water bottles. We save a fortune and are able to refill no matter where we are.

After reading several positive posts about wegoshop I finally checked out the website and have decided this is the way to go for us. $15.00 delivery right to your room if you order $100.00 or less, that's way cheaper and easier than mailing OR shopping yourself! They're fees are great and from what I understand the service fantastic!
Let's see... Pretty cheap....good
Easy...... even better
convenient...Yep, I know what I'm doing!!! :goodvibes

I have read several posts about Wego on the DVC board, you might want to do a search there. I don't remember any negative comments, I think everyone was very pleased.

The only thought I have about using wegoshop is that you may get better prices shopping yourself as opposed to full retail. If you ship via ups a big box is about $15.

We are shipping diapers, baby food, disposable bibs, snacks, bread & a travel fridge down for milk & other small items.

I bought the Brita bottles :disrocks: , so I am not planning on buying water. My DH has only two addictions in life: Target and laundry. Weird huh? Well it works well for me because I hate laundry. :cheer2: So since he will not get to go to Target while were are in the world, he was asking about laundry. Less packing, and I don't have to do the laundry. Win win. :cool1: So that was the main reason for either shipping or going with wegoshop. I was also thinking about snacks and quick breakfast items. So, I am still hopelessly undecided, but thanks for all your help!

To solve the water issue, we have an insulated water bottle that we fill every night and freeze. Then we carry the nicely cold bottle all day. It's relatively small and keeps the person carrying it nice and cool. :flower: That saves money and trouble. If we run out before we leave the park, we just refill at a water fountain.

On the laundry issue, why not buy some laundry tablets, put them in a ziploc and bring them with you. You can also put dryer sheets in a ziploc and bring them too. They don't take up much room in a suitcase and stay together better than laundry powder. We have also brought laundry detergent in an old water bottle, but be sure to put a ziploc around that! That way you won't need wegoshop for those. Since you are planning on doing laundry, you will only need half as many clothes, so you will have more space.

We were totally planning on trying wegoshop.com for our trip in August. We wanted bottled water, diet coke, soy milk and other snacks and breakfast foods. The only problem we have is making a time for the delivery. We are a very spontaneous family and I would hate to tell the kids we can't go to DTD now 'cuz I have to wait for the food delivery. I just can't seem to find a time I know we will be in our room. I think we will try to ship a box and stuff our suitcases with water and pop :guilty:

I am totally planning on using wegoshop - I have emailed them already and feel comfortable with their service - One question, though, from those who have used the service - What store should I select for them to shop from? I would love to use a warehouse store - they only use Sam's Club - is this a good choice for me? We want to order cheese, bagels, snack things, and beer - nothing to major. Also, how specific should my list be? Every store has different brands, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

When we have used WEGO shop delivery I always setup the time that we will be checking into the hotel and in the process of unpacking. They have arrived at the set time both times I have used them. It works great we check in, unpack, & put the food away and off to the parks.

I have another question and since my first wasn't answered I will post again!

1) How long do you estimate it will take us to get from the airport to Pop Century (including check-in time) using Magical Express - I need to give an delivery time and would like to schedule for right after we get into room and start unpacking - then off to the parks! We are scheduled to arrive at the airport later afternoon.

2) Do any of you have a preferred store to request for wegoshop? Do you even request a specific store? I am unfamiiar with the ones they list (Publix, BJ's, Sam's Club and a few others) and would like to request one that has the best prices. We are only ordering in-room snacky things and beer.

Thanks!

I'm using wegoshop.com for our trip in June. I have also used netgrocer.com in the past. For me the big difference is that wegoshop will do those perishable items...milk!!! But, if you don't need anything that needs refridgeration or is a fresh food, like fruit, you could go with netgrocer. We had snacks, bread, cereals, bottles of water (2 12 packs), juice boxes etc. delivered to our rooms at BWV and the Polynesian. Since you pay for it when you submit your order, you don't need to be there to receive it. And it can be held for you until you check-in. In fact, when we were at the Polynesian, it was there waiting for us...seems it arrived the day before we did!!! So, that might be an option also.
