Has anyone used National with a coupon? I found a coupon code on the internet but there is no way to print it. When I entered the coupon code, it said coupon accepted at the summary page with my estimated price. Will I have a problem cuz I don't have the coupon, there really was no way to print it.

I have always given the coupon when I've had a National code. I'm thinking they may ask for it, especially if the ressie does say Discount Coupon Accepted as when you're making the ressie, it says on the top of the car selection page that you will have to turn in the coupon. You could always call and ask, but I doubt the ressie agents have any real authority on that.

I've always been asked to produce a coupon at the kiosk. Even when there is no real coupon, I just print out the web page that states the info on it. I was even asked for a coupon once for using a free day that was part of my emerald aisle perk for accummulating points. It took a while to explain that it was an EA perk on my account and did not need a paper proof copy. It's strange when you have to explain the perks to a company employee for the company offering the perks.

When i click on the coupon code it goes directly to the National site. There is no way to print it out.

I used coupon NF1982JDD which someone had posted on here saying it was an internet coupon code. Do you think they're going to ask of some proof as to where I got this?

I just went to National's website, clicked on the $30 off E-coupon, and printed it without a problem. I found another online coupon that gave me a better deal though, if you can use a Visa credit card. Google "visa coupon national", and it is the first entry. It is for 20% off plus one free day.

I've used similar codes three times and have never been asked to produce it. I think the fact that it's presented as an "e-code" means it's an electronic code and they don't expect a hard copy.

the same thing happened when i tried the Visa codes...???

Maybe there is some sort of capacity control on the e coupons or a glitch in the website right now, although the coupon code is accepted for december rental..?

It's an e-coupon from Nat'l . You do not need to have printed coupon with the code you used. I have used Nat'l e-coupons before and will be using the same code as you in Nov. Just go pick out your car, then at the window hand agent your drivers license, paper hanging from mirror or on dashboard, along with your cc. Thats all you need. I always have a printed copy of my reservation, but have never needed it.

a new twist with coupons and National

have tried to use the visa ( NF1256OOM expring 10/31/07 ) coupon code and the national website code ( NF1982JDD expiring 12/15/07 )

if what the represetative from national's rental desk says is correct when the message comes up

it probably means that particular coupon has been used so much that they have reached what is called "capacity control" and the code will no longer get the stated discount

the earliest the national code works seems to be dec 1, anything before that it comes back with the above message

so another wrinkle from now on might be capacity control coupons

I gave up on National after about 1/2 hour of having to reenter my dates/times/airport and attempt this broken code or that broken code.

I just reserved through Dollar. The rate was about $75 less than the lowest National rate. And the best thing is, no coupons, no AAA, no corporate code, nothing. Just reserve and go. Thrifty had the same rates (within $5 total).

I've been having the same trouble for a few days. Not sure what's up - I'm going straight through the National site for the $30 coupon, and it won't work!

I'm getting the same exact response on Alamo's website. I don't know if it's because dates in Nov. are blacked out or if it's a website error or what!!!!! I'm trying to reserve the 13-22and and no matter which way I try to reserve it won't work...whether through their own website coupon or the entertainment website link!

the mystery continues ... when I go to www.entertainment.com and click on the National coupon page, it takes me to National and pre-enters the contract ID & coupon codes. National kicks it back saying the contract ID is invalid. When I remove that, it says the coupon cannot be applied. No matter what the coupon is - upgrade, $$ off, free day, etc.

Strange.

I just tried National & get

Unexpected Error
We are sorry. The system just experienced an unexpected error. Please retry.

So I'm thinking it's the website????

I'm getting the same thing when I go through AOL, but if I use Firefox, I can get through. BUT, if I try to change the time I pick up the car, I lose the coupon discount.

I am also getting the same error (about the coupons) on the Alamo site.
