Anyone used flyglobespan?

Hi All

Has anyone used globespan? I know they're not going to Sanford quite yet but was just wondering if anyone has used them to go anywhere else. We're thinking of using them this Sept as they are doing a new flight to Sanford from Glasgow, we're thinking of flying Premium as their prices are very reasonable. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

We were booked on flights to Barcelona for a long weekend but cancelled as they changed the flight times on us. They brought the return flight forward 6 hours which made it hardly worth going in the first place so we cancelled.

They were very friendly on the phone and did give a full refund with no problems.

Perhaps this is less of an issue over a longer period but I still dont like the idea of losing 1/2 days holiday.

It is also less likely to happen if they fly out at the same time every day as the return flight will be determined by the UK flight arrival time - I'm not sure what they do for Sanford but the Barcelona flight times seem to be different each day.

As this is a new set up (for flights to Florida anyway, they aren't new-new I don't think) there may be not much feedback yet Audrey, but I know some people here have booked for summer 06

Audrey - i've read good reviews on their other flights. Do bear in mind though that the prices are good for adults flying alone, but in the school holidays - they actually charge a higher price for kids than adults, which makes them not such a good deal.

Yeah that's why Virgin worked out a better deal for us!

Thanx for the info We're not going during the school hols so the extra kids charges don't apply and as we're hoping to fly premium then it should work out MUCH cheaper than Virgin Prem Eco

My DH flew with them twice last year (to separate Spanish destinations) and had no problems either time. One of these included a family vacation with DD and myself and we had a great time!

The planes were new last summer and were very comfortable. I wouldn't hesitiate to book with them again and we probably would book with them to go to Florida in the future!

Audrey - i didn't realise you were from Aberdeen. That is a huge trek from Glasgow. Do you drive or fly there?

i know someone that used them to go to spain and the only problem was that they change the flight times a few days before departure - leaving him unable to cancel as nothing else was available. The flght was good he said, comfy and good service!

We priced them to go in October and they were way more expensive than Travel city . However if we went on a Tuesday rather then the Monday the cost came down by £'s off £800. How crazy!! Even going on the Tuesday they were still more expensive than Travel city. Granted they load the price of the car but even accounting for that they were cheaper and we have 5 prebooked seats!
Pity you weren't going on the 7th or 11th September as TCD had really good flight prices. I think I priced the 4th at £340 less than Globespan.
Will def keep them in mind again as March last year we went to Manchester which was a trek and we are only an hour away from you in Aberdeen.
Have used TCD numerous times but given the fact that globespan have daily flights out of Glasgow will seriously consider them.
Only thing that worries me is what if they don't sell a flight will they cancel it or will they go with very few passengeers.
